Well, we have now crossed into Arkansas, only one more state to go.

Last night in Memphis we wandered around to find something to eat (after seeing a little bit of "Next Best Thing" and "American Inventor"). We settled on this place called Dan McGuiness, which we were expecting to be a dirty Irish pub, but it opened onto a mall with a courtyard of trees and a fountain inside it was very disorienting. The food was delicious. We think Memphis is a good food city, although not sure why no one seems to sell breakfast. We had to settle on Waffle House again in West Memphis, AR.

PS. At dinner DJ said that he really wanted to go to Murphy's Tavern but he can't now because he's moved. I told him that he wasn't allowed to say that again. That was a little too close for comfort to me. Let's all just stay in denial.

This morning we walked around a bit (DJ's car was still there, just for the record. Also, the Springhill Suites in Memphis Officially sucks, no internet, crappy TV service, and an oddly stained couch. Our advice, stay somewhere else.

Memphis is a neat city, although eerily there aren't any cars on the road. At any time of day. We could get an apartment for 400/mo. Right in downtown Memphis in the hopping part of town. I was certainly considering it. I'd like to spend more time there in the future.

Before leaving the hotel we were watching "Paycheck" a movie by Ben Affleck. I really want to see how it ends now.

When we walked around, we walked back down N. Main St. Where it was an only trolley road, that was neat. We also hit up the Confederate Park and checked out the water. Then we crossed the MIssissippi and now we're on our way.

DJ's still not feeling great today so we'll see how far we get. Here's some more pictures, we'll talk later.

Think good thoughts
I'm a little concerned about you driving through R-Kansas. It is my experience that R-Kansas does not like cars from the North and does everything it can to break them. Make sure you have all of your headlights, they tend to leap out of your front end as if your vehicle were projectile vomiting. Also, other drivers don't look as they change lanes. They are worse than Mass-holes. So watch out! West Memphis is just R-Kansas' way of fooling unsuspecting tourists in spending their hard earned money there instead of on Beale Street. I wouldn't be surprised if West Memphis was a dry town, just because. Something tells me DJ has a case of the nerves and that is what is upsetting his belly so much. I love you DJ! I am sending you feel better hugs!

Not in New England (Kansas?) Anymore!
Now that you are in the south, you might want to try a sourthern chain of hotels. La Quinta's are very good, cheaper than many, better than Motel 6. Always a free breakfast! OR do you plan to make it to Lewisville tonight?
