New Delhi

Still in New Delhi. Last Saturday I waited Emma and the guys five pleasant hours at the domestic aerport. Wasn't bad at all, despite the +43 degree heat outside, the waiting hall was really cool. Finally the plane from Goa arrived, and we got ourselves a taxi. The two Norwegian guys are super nice and relaxed, and it felt also safer to have some masculinity around! The first impression about New Delhi at night was a bit chaotic, buses, taxes, bikes, people, dogs, smell of burning rubber, traffic pollution, lots of noise from the traffic...Anyway, we got to Paharganj (later we noticed that according to Lonely Planet this place is not everyone's cup of tea due to the drug addicts and all that stuff, but we didn't find the place dangerous at all). We went around for a while, asking the prices for the hotels, and finally just got one a bit more expensive with air conditioning.
Next day we heard the situation in Rajasthan was now "under control", and most of the trains started running again. We changed our hotel to a cheaper one without the AC, and decided just relax as last night went again with only some 4 hour sleep. Our new plan is to skip Rajasthan (we heard it's even hotter than in Delhi). We found out the Corbett national park isn't that far from Delhi, and it's one of the best ones in India. So, we'll go there, then move towards Nepal, do the trekking part there, then get back to India, Varanasi, Agra (to see Taj Mahal), and back to Delhi to catch the flights. The Norwegians told us that Nepal was really beautiful and they had some photos that made us want to catch the train right away! Yesterday evening went all together to the fancier side of Delhi, the South Delhi to have a dinner. That's a nice place if want to have a break from the dirt for a while😊. Although it's not so nice to be followed by the little kids asking for money, they're there all alone, bare feet, around age four, and I had some trouble trying not to feel bad about it, but then the guys bought them some ice-cream...
Last night was quite a survivor-fight against the hot air. It was absolutely so hot that it felt like sleeping in the sauna from where it was
Juicy!Juicy!Juicy!

You can buy really good juice from the streets - just remember to ask it without water or ice...
impossible to escape. But watering some clothes and having them on us made it a bit easier to catch some sleep. But yeah, AC is quite a good thing and I think from now on I'll happily pay some extra. We woke up early to get to the train-station line to book the tickets to Ramnagar (close to Corbett). The New Delhi train station is not far from Paharganj, and it's good to be on the line before the place opens (8am) to be sure to get the tickets. There's a separate section for tourist on the first floor. We talked there with one American guy who said he had to wait two days because the train was so booked. We were a bit like nooooo, as now the only wish is to get out of here as fast as possible! But luckily we were the second in line and got the tickets for tonight's train. Corbett might be as hot as Delhi, but at least it's less crowded, less noisy and less polluted! So, hopefully tomorrow we'll see some Indian wildlife.
The Main Bazaar of New Delhi is just opposite to the train station and I made some pretty good bargains there. Found everything I needed: a light towel (30Rs), a knife (100Rs), a little bag for passport, camera etc (40Rs), a scarf (50Rs) and set of shampoo, conditioner, face scrub, lip balm and Tiger balm for 250 Rs. When 100 Rs is equal to about 2e, was not sooo expensive I think.

Relaxed day and got some facials. Good job!Although ofcourse the dude tried to cheat us, as the headmassage turned into a facial and ful body massage all of a sudden without asking us anything. But we stayed strong and didn't pay extra. Haha.
