probably the hottest so far. argh.

the train was late getting in to lampang, so all my worry over missing the stop was unfounded. had a really shitty sleep though, having nightmares that i would sleep through our stop! everyone else on the train (we were on a sleeper train) was getting off at chiang mai, and lampang is just before that). they don't really tell you when you get to your stop, and if you're not paying attention (or asleep, like i would be at 6 am when we were supposed to get in), you would miss it. kim on the other hand, had a fabulous sleep because it was my job to wake her up. sometimes i wish i wasn't the one who brought the alarm clock.

arrived at riverside guesthouse, soooo cute! it's an old, rambling teak building on the (looking pretty empty) river bank. there's lots of cute areas to hang out, with day beds and a hammock and little nooks under the cover of glowers.

we dropped off our laundry (YAY clean clothes!) and went exploring. tried to find a museum... ended up walking for five hours and not really seeing anything. found the stupid museum, totally wasn't worth it. then we hiked forever to this massage place, cos we figured one was due. IT WAS CLOSED! i'll never understand it. i've found it a couple times this trip, go somewhere in business hours, during the hours that they have LISTED ON THE DOOR as open, and it's closed. so annoying!

did some shopping in a market and bought a cute shirt. then picked up clean laundry (YAYAYAY!!)

went for dinner at the riverside restaurant. SO GOOD. bacon wrapped pineapple anyone? so full.
