Lima

Well Lima was nice, a bit expensive but really quite a cool city. I was planning on doing a bit of Para-sailing and swimming at the beach while I was here but the weather has been a bit cold so that'll have to wait untill I'm a bit closer to the equator. Meanwhile I'm off up to Huaras tonight and plan on draging out my tent for a couple of days camping - but apparantly it's been snowing up there in the national park over the last couple of days so we'll see about that too. Hope everyones good back home, I miss you all a lot.

The shameless bus vendors of Peru
that was there for 15mins untill I finally gave in and bought a small packet of peanuts so she's take it away and I could see the TV again.

My mates from Nazca
Because I was so sick of the bus vendors I decided to pay top dollar($3) and ride in comfort for the 2hrs up to Ica from Nazca. This old bomb is a Dodge Braugham, and man was it a cruiser...

Larco Mar
Hello. Our names are Daniela and Lorena, we are 16 years old and we live in Peru. We really liked your web page, but we read a comment you made about Larco Mar, which is actually wrong. Its true that most of Lima's rich people (young people, mostly) go to Larco Mar to have fun, to go to the movies or something like that. But the beaches on the Costa Verde, below Larco Mar, are not at all visited by the rich people. Most of us go to the beaches further south, mainly on kilometer 97, to beaches called Asia, or other ones around them. The Miraflores beaches have free access, and are not very clean, so most of the people that go there are the ones that do not have the advantage and the blessing of being able to own their own beach houses to go spend the weekend in. Convento de San Francisco
This comment you made: "An old library in the Catacombs museum" it's actually wrong. It's the Convent of Saint Francis (Convento de San Francisco) which also happens to have some sort of catacombs underneath. I think Daniela and Lorena's comments resonate so bad b/c Peru is a country with , what? 90% poor people? and for someone to say, may be too carelessly, "most of us" rich people go someplace else, it is just a smack in the face of "most of us" who are fully aware of the racial, economical and social ills of Peruvian society.
