The last week...

It has come to an end. My semester in Prague is over, but it was wonderful when it lasted. I learned so much about myself, this culture and humanity in general over the course of the last four months. I learned about so many great Czech authors from my classes (besides the famous Kafka to Kundera) there is Hrabel and Tropol too. I also got to visit places all over the Czech Republic outside of Prague and meet people from all over the world. Perhaps the best part of my study abroad experience was all the great friends made. I put pictures of them throughout my blog, and just looking back on my photos I am already missing them. The university classes we took we a bit... well... unchallenging, however; it seems that that is purposeful, so that us foreign students have the time to travel. I am so grateful for all the opportunities I have had to travel and see Europe. My one regret would be that I saw mostly big cities (cause that's all that's possible in weekend trips generally) and didn't get out into the country very much. The last week was a bit insane as far as balancing going out and getting papers done, but it all came together nicely in the end. Although I am still awaiting grades for most of my classes... not sure how I feel about that yet. We went back to De Brug, one of the first bars we partied at in Prague and we also went on a booze cruise with all the ECES folk and professors were invited too (unfortunately none of mine showed up). My friends and I also celebrated witches day- a generally eastern european holiday with ancient roots. Nowadays it is celebrated with firends getting together around bonfires in public places. Oragnized by Anne, we all went to a park and had our own bonfire (completely monitored with an Eagle Scout - thanks Jon) and fried wienies. It was a different experience.
It was very difficult for me to say goodbye to all my new friends and of course I cried myself to sleep Friday night as everyone was leaving. I stayed around and hung out by myself Saturday before my dad arrived on Sunday. It was nice to have a day to myself in Prague and walk along all those places that I saw everyday and never really admired for what they are worth.

Brown Sauce...?
Found this at TESCO. I never found out what Brown Sauce was, but from the picture, I figure you're suppose to use it similarly to ketchup? Sometimes the advertising is a bit lacking...

Bodeguita del Medio
Last week, Josh and I went to the famous Bodeguita del Medio with their famous mojitos. One of three B del M, the other two in Cuba, the drinks were overpriced but the atmosphere made up for it.
