Hidy Ho Friends!
Finally seem to be getting photos up on blog. Just got back from a few days in London, had an awesome time. Went to one of the best parties ever - a FOAM Party in Wimbledon. It was bank holiday weekend there, London was Chocca’s, officially pretty much hate the London underground - stuffy and no air ventilation.
Caught up with Brooke and friends. Stayed with Michelle and Nick - thanks guys!! Cutest couple you’ve ever met and off to South Africa to get married in October - and they have chickens, so it was fresh eggs for brekky. They live in Surbiton, just past Wimbledon. Friday night we went out for Michelle’s b’day, Saturday did the touristy stuff, didn’t do the eye, queues were HUGE and we weren’t smart enough to pre-book but I,ve already seen it, Kate was a little disappointed in missing out. So it was on to Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly Circus and all in between. Knackered by the end of the day - but that didn’t stop us going out to party - very nice Strawberry Daiquiris at the Suburban in Wimbledon and onto
Bar Sia which was quite bizarre, ancient sea baths turned into a club… good night.
Very hungover Sunday, but still managed to pluck up the energy to get to Camden Market - LOVED IT! So much more character than Vic markets but not really for fresh food and produce but did have nice food for lunch. The whole place itself was packed. Went on and saw more of London, Oxford Street, Leicester Square etc, then left and met up with the rest of the gang for a picnic in Wimbledon, they’d already had a few drinkies, was there for a while and then we all decided to get smashed and go to a FOAM PARTY at a club called the WATERSHED. Lucky I was wearing anything too expensive…. Had soooo much fun. There’s nothing quite like it…. Not so great at 3am in the morning when your heading home freezing cold and skin feels like crap or the next 2 days when your still washing foam out of everything - BUT SO WORTH IT. If you ever get the chance - DO IT!! There was like a huge rocket up the front just literally shooting out foam all over
the room, its like having a massive bubble bath with 100 other people - but with clothes on… well most of the time, LOL.
So next day it was home again George. Very hungover again, sick of climbing stairs - there everywhere!! Back to King’s Cross for the 4 hour train trip home, that’s right, the one with the broken air conditioner - was roasting and sat right next to a moron who drank the whole way and gave everyone the complete shits - now I know why iPODS were invented - thank the lord I have one!! By the way - on the way back listened to my free Andrew Denton Enough Rope interview downloads, was very impressed just about to log on to download more - there is some great interviews there if anyone’s interested.
So anyhoo, then when we got home just wanted to unpack and go to sleep but no! Our new housemates had moved in, we were looking a treat so good first impression - they seem cool - Kat 26, Amanda, 24 and Todd 22… all Sydneysiders! We now have a fully functioning kitchen and most of the water issue has been
Hot chicks!
Me, Kate & Brooke - hot! resolved and lounge room is getting the last of floorboards down on Monday - will be glad to see the back of the tradies and finally relax. Only thing now is that we need to organize accommodation for August when we get back from Europe - not an easy task considering its right smack bang in the middle of the Edinburgh festival - I,m sure we’ll get something organized soon.
So tomorrow night we’re off to Starlight Express at the playhouse - an Andrew Lloyd Webber production on rollerskates - should be good. Saturday heading back to Fife to catch up with the family which I,m looking forward to. The following Thursday we’re off to Dublin for 5 days, 3 of which are traveling around on tour. Can’t Wait!
Well this has been written in a hurry - pouring with rain nearly all day today - weather really hasn’t been that bad since we got here not much rain anyway - it’s the wind that kills you. I,ve attached photos to entry before this of place before was finished, have to remind myself to put up the new ones - its not that bad anymore - LOL!!
Birthday girl.
