Us girls wanted to go somewhere fun, with lots to do, and to just chill and relax, so we thought let's go to the Carribeans!!! After seeing images of The Atlantis Hotel and Dolpins, we knew it had to be Bahamas, and I have to say it was definately one of the best experiences of my life!!! There was so much fun and laughter, I'm surprised I didn't die of it!!!

So Vix and I are in Heathrow, and I noticed that I didn't have a ticket Vix did, so I told the ticket desk and they said that everything was fine and I wouldn't have any problems. When we arrived in Miami, I wasn't allowed to check-in to our flight to Bahamas because of that missing ticket! After argueing for what seemed hours, I was told that in order for me to go to Bahamas I had to pay $250, which according to STA Travel I would get back on my return. I paid it, but I was livid!!!

Anyway, Vix and I arrive in Bahamas and we were getting a bit worried because we had to wait at the airport for Cutes and Jan. We were waiting for so long, that we nearly took a taxi to our hotel. But then a limo, which looked like it passed it sell by date with the window tints peeling off, pulled up and out came Janice and Cutes with big smiles on their faces because they knew that we were looking at the Limo like "What the Hell is that?!?!" When we got inside, it was just as bad, because apart from the window tint, the leather seats were falling apart!!! We were having a fun time laughing about our transport!!! The driver was however, such a such guy!!! He offered to take us around (at a cost of course) but we happily declined.

So we pulled up to our hotel, The Holiday Inn Sunspree, which was really beautiful and clean and the staff were really nice & friendly. We dropped our bags off in our room, which again was clean and spacious (for 4 people) with a big enough bathroom for us to share when one is showering and the others are going to toilet or doing their make-up (yes, girls do that!!!). We went to walk around the area a bit just to see what was around and what restaurants were there! We ended up going to a restaurant very close by to our hotel and the food great (and very pricey) but the staff were forever staring at us! Not like in a smilely friendly way, but more like, which one of us they wanted to take home with them! I had the chef looking at me, like how I was going to be cooked!!! Very creepy!!! We ignored them and Cutes and Jan were filling us in on what they got up to whilst they were there. They had gone to beach near to our hotel and sunbathed (they both looked nice and tanned) and did some watersports and met a guy called John who was in charge of the watersports and he took them on a free boat ride around the island. Anyway, after the catching up we all agreed we enjoyed our food, but we were all happy to agree to never go back to there during our stay!!! We didn't go straight to bed though because the pool looked so welcoming, so we decided to take a dip and walk on the deck nearby to our hotel and just relax by the pool.

DAY 2

Next day we had breakfast at the hotel. They had an excellent buffet full of everything you can possibiliy want to eat at breakfast. Then we walked out of our hotel into the glourious sunshine and walked around Paradis Island and checked out some of the nearby shops, then made our way to the beach. After a bit of relaxing and drinking some coconuts in the shells, we did some watersports, and Jan & Cutes introduced us to John, who they met on their first day there! He gave us free water rides also which was a great start. We then decided to do some jet-skiing!!! None of us had ever been on a jet ski before so we had 2 guys who were going to go on the bikes with us. I was with Jan and one of the guys with the other 2 girls on another jet ski.

It started and of course when you do something for the first time there is always excitment and fright! After a few seconds, I was shouting for joy and kept shouting to go faster faster!!! The two guys were racing each other and us girls were just screaming and waving at each other. We all got to take turns to drive and when it was my turn I driving so fast!!! What a rush!!! I didn't want it to end!!! I should mention we drove around the island, so we passed The Atlantis and private residential areas, and it was beautiful with the turquoise water surrounding it all!!! I will definitely be jet-skiing any place I see one in my future travels!!!

So we went back to the beach to sunbath and do a bit more watersports with John, and Jan, Vix and I all decided to get our hair braided. OMG!!! Such terrible pain!!! It probably wasn't a great idea to get it on the beach because it was too hot and it took ages!!! But I was happy with the end result! After the beach we decided to go to the poolside for more relaxing. We met another John, but this time he was the lifeguard.

We went upstairs to our rooms to nap a little then to get ready to go out for the evening. We decided to go to The Atlantis to check out the food, casino and club. Atlantis kinda reminded me of Vegas especially with the designers stores. We decided to eat at a Burger place at the Casino, and the burgers were delicious!!! I couldn't laugh so much, or tried not to because my hair braids were so tight, they were making my eyes red. When we finished eating we went to the club and the guy at the door let us all go in for free. We found a free table and sat down to watch people dancing and then did some dacing ourselves. The DJ took a shining to our Vix and kept shouting out her name everytime she was dancing. After our fun night at the club, we decided to walk around outside and found ourselves standing at the harbour. The boats, sorry yachts, were absolutely amazing!!! I wonder if any of them belonged to anyone famous? We decided to walk back to our hotel because it was a beautiful night...

DAY 3

We had booked to go snorkelling, so we were picked up from our hotel and taken to Nassau on the other side of the island. There were quite a few people on the boat, but they were diving. The captain said we could sit upstairs with him and we had a lot of fun talking with him. Finally it was time to go snorkelling, so we got ready and got our snorkelling gear. The water so clear and blue. The fishes were beautiful and now and then we would see the divers who were going pretty deep. There was also a guy recording our activities, so we would stop and pose for the camera... hehehe... When snorkelling was over, we decided to do some sunbathing on the way back, so we went right to front of the boat and relaxed and took in the sun.

Before heading back to our hotel, we walked around the town and checked out the local stores. Then walked into the markets and we were all being called over to buy something. We bought loads of sarongs and a few necklaces and trinkets. Very nice market with friendly people. That evening we eat at our hotel and decided to relax because the next day we would be swmming with the dolphins and I was sooooo excited!!!

DAY 4

This is the day I was most looking foward too because it had always been my dream to swim with dolphins!!! My head and eyes were still sore from the hair braids so I decided to take them out. I knew I would be having fun today and I didn't want to be in pain. It took a while, but with Jan's help I managed to take them all out!!! What a relief! The boat ride to Dolphin Encounters didn't take long. When we arrived, we went through a demonstration of how to touch the dolphins and especially where not to touch them and then it was time to split into groups and get changed into our vests.

Our Dolphin guide was Rosco who was very nice and took a shining to our Fatima. Anyway, we waited eagerly for the dolphins to come and when they did we were all so excited. We jumped into the water and lined up in a row then the dolphins came and swam infront of us slowly so we could stroke them, and two by two, we came up to the front (Cutes and I started) and we were told to dance and kiss and hug the dolphins! It was so much fun and I was loving the hugging and kissing part! Dream came true at last!!! Then everyone else had there turns and when they were done, we went back up to the deck and were told how to position ourselves for when the dolphins pushed the bottom of our feet to go across the water. When my turn came I was scared but excited at the same time! Then I felt 2 beaks at the bottom of my feet and I was pushed so fast across the water! Next thing you know my shorts were falling down and I fell into the water before I was exposed to everyone and so I didn't lose my shorts completely into the water!!! Luckily no one saw anything except that it looked like I fell into the water!!! Funny and fun at the same time!!! Everyone else was fine and went across with ease except one lady who after 2 attempts didn't get pushed across, not even half way!!! Lastly we lined up in a row again and stroked the dolphins and at one point I went forward by accident and was eat by the dolphin beak on my arm. It was done lightly but it hurt a lot! But I happy to be walking around with a Dolphin Bruise on my arm the next day!!!

Rosco asked us if we wanted to hang out that evening and we agreed! We went back to the hotel and relaxed a little and then got ready to go out! Rosco picked us from the hotel and took us to the Zoo Club! The hotel staff had asked us where we were going so they could meet us there after (and they did). Anyway we got to the club and it was packed full of locals which was great!!! The music was wicked playing all the best tunes and a lot of Ragga and Raggie which was great because I love that music and expecially more because we were in Bahamas. At one point I was standing at the balcony overlooking the crowd to relax and an American Business Man had asked if I wanted to go back to his hotel room!!! Not all Asians are easy mate!!! Anyway apart from that, it was a fun evening and we even saw the lady from Dolphin Encounters (who didn't get pushed across the water). Night was over and we arranged to meet Rosco the following evening to hang out and watch a movie.

DAY 5

One of the hotel staff we met was Gina, who worked in the gift shop. She had contacts at The Atlantis Hotel and she managed to get us discounted bands to get into the Atlantis Waterpark. You are only allowed if you are a guest or pay lots of money to enter!!! We were really excited and were right to be because there was so much to do there!!! They had water slides and one of them was so across a underwater bridge passing the sharks tanks which was scary and fun at the same time. We went all around and we went swimming in the normal pool for a while, then when we dried up, we went into th Aquarium to check out all the wonderful fishes. The tanks were massive!!! There were a lot of tanks and now and again we saw divers who were feeding the sharks or cleaning up areas of the tanks. There were sharks, jellyfish, lobsters and crabs, electirc eels and even fishes who were bigger then me. We finished our visit by eating at the same burger place we did before. After relaxing a bit, we got ready and Rosco picked us up to take us to the movies. We watched 'xXx' with Vin Deisel. It was alright!!! After the movies we said our goodnights to Rosco and slept.

DAY 6

Fatima was leaving today to fly to Hawaii. She said her goodbyes to the hotel staff and then we took her to the airport. Saying goodbye was hard because we were all enjoying our time together. After we saw her off we went into town and walked around a little then tried to find somewhere to eat. We turned into a little road and to our amazement, we found a little Filipino Restaurant. Of course we had to go inside and eat there! The menu had all our favourite Filipino dishes including my favourite, Pusit, which is Squid cooked in it's juice and vinegar. We were served by a Bahamian who knew how to speak Tagalog which made me feel a little embarassed because I can't speak very much Tagalog myself. Also she had six fingers!!! We tried not to stare at it because it's rude to do so, but we couldn't help it. It was like her sixth finger was about to come off and was being held together with a tiny piece of string. Okay so I paid a lot of attention to it!!!

After town, we went back to laze about the pool and catch some sun. We were going out that evening to a local club so we wanted to have as much energy as possible. We got ready and took a cab to the club which was a nice place with an outside pool and bar area and again the music was fantastic. There seemed to be a lot of tourists there too, and also a camera crew who were filming people for an American TV programme. One of the guys started dancing with Vix and she had to sign a form to say she was okay for it to air on TV. I wonder what it will look like in the end! Hopefully he won't lie and say they ended up together on the night because it was nothing like that whatsoever!!! Another fun night out with the girls.

Last few days

Today we just lazed about the pool and went to the beach part of the hotel and took in the sun! We decided to go back to Atlantis to go clubbing and we met Damon and Hakem who were at The Zoo Club. Damon was sooooo fine!!! We stayed at the club for a while and then went to walk around the hotel a little. It was a great night!

Next day we went into Nassau and went to a Mall to do some last minute shopping. We were told about a good restaurant not so far from there so decided to go. We were waiting for a taxi outside the mall for ages and then a police car drive past asking what we were waiting for and when we told them, they offered to take us there! It was pretty weird sitting at the back of the car, but also a laugh being taken to a restaurant by a police car. We arrived at the restaurant which looked great espeically with it being outside. The food was great also. We went back to the hotel and again had a swim at the hotel pool. This time it would be the last since we were flying out the next day.

One of the guys at the desk offered to take us to the airport because it was his day off so we accepted and on the way to the airport we took a detour and he went to take us to meet his mother! Weird at first but she was a really nice lady! When we got to the airport, it was a very sad feeling to be leaving! Vix and I had to wait a bit longer because we were catching a later flight to go to Miami for a few days.
