Ok, so the elf thing needs explaining.

My film group needed a topic.

My film group was getting desperate.

My film group had very very very little sleep.

Utrecht had an elf festival.

My film group now had a topic.

The elf festival was actually mildly disappointing. I was expecting people who believed that they were actually elves or some other mythical creature. I wanted D&D hardcore enthusiasts who thought that had magic powers. What I got was a bunch of fairly rational, interestingly dressed individuals who admitted to coming to the elf fantasy fair because they liked the attention...that people like me liked to interview them and take pictures of them. Fair enough.

Despite the disappointing lack of crazies, the fair was worth it for the absolutely gorgeous setting and the incredible music. There was a band called Valravn that was awesome. I have a total girl crush on the singer. The costumes were pretty fantastic as well. Hopefully I'll be able to put our final documentary on here.(Random side note about awesome girl singers from other countries...theres a band called Karmakonga in Amsterdam that is the shiznit).

Thank you for the pretty photos. They helped make the unbearably hot weather and smoke-filled air from the fire in Griffith Park palatable. No homes were lost or other structures. Wild animals dependent on the food source in the park are wandering into the neighborhoods, such as coyotes and jack rabbits. Will miss your presence this Mother's Day Sunday.
