Brittney Holder Writing has taken a back seat to posting pictures this week. I'm busy working on my final paper so I don't feel much like typing out a long blog. But things are going well here. I'm sad to leave the friends I've made, and the simple beauty of the country side. But it's back to the smog-filled, people ridden streets of Kampala for me. I'm heading there by post bus on Saturday, after I see Uganda's most popular pop-star in concert -Chamelion. Don't ask me why, I'm just tagging along with some of the Peace Corps volunteers I've met. Should be a fun night of dancing and mindless drinking! Miss you all!

The footpath from my house
The following is a series of photos I took on my walk in to town. I take this path almost everyday, it's my lifeline to the outside world. It's a beautiful hike that takes around 1 hour.

Bridge 1
I cross many bridges like this one...

Bee forest
...through the bee forest which is made of eucalyptus trees and the sound of hundreds of buzzing bees...

Red red tree
...up the hill with the striking red-flowered tree...

Hill view
...stop and enjoy the surrounding hills...

Cows
...they're everywhere...

Banana trees
...past the matoke (like banana) fields...

Fence
...a fence, and beyond that a woman who seemed very puzzled by the fact that I took a picture of it...

...these trees were hacked to their stump by locals in search of fire wood...
