Our first trip into the biggest trip into the city in South Korea 😊

We finnished work earlier than usual (prob around 4ish) and as it's a pretty far drive into the city we decided to make the most of it and go for it. We ended up missing the 4:15 bus (You need to pay attention ALL the time at the bus stop cos unless you wave for the bus, they won't stop for you! oh well.) So had to wait for the 4:45 instead. The trip into Seoul took an hour and a half on the bus, and then another 10min on the subway to get to Yongsan (where we wanted to be). We met a really sweet lady on the bus who's invited us to come to her house for a home cooked meal some time! ...and then she took us to the subway and bought our tickets for us!! Yay 😊

The big attraction to Yongsan was the electronics market and thanks to Darrell's built-in GPS system we managed to get into the market pretty quickly. This place is incredible! We (unfortunately) did't get any photo's... the shops in the market were all closing up anyway... but we will definately post photo's of the next trip in 😊 Maybe even with the new camera I'm going to get for next to nothing 😊

Oh... Ja... but this place is AMAZING! It's like two interconnected warehouses with a floor for computers and a floor for cammeras and so on and so forth... I could tell we were dealing with really top notch computers because everytime we'd finished speaking to the salesman (I mean Darrell had finished speaking and I had finished looking spare) and turned the corner, Darrell would get all giggly!! 😊 you can get a brand new out of the box, super slinky 6mega pix, 3Xoptical Zoom digital camera with a 1 gig memory stick for... wait for it... R1600! wohoo! and top of the range, all the bells and whistles, memory, high speed duo laptops for R12 000. crazy hey 😊

There were also DVDs, perfectly legal (we were told by one of the other teachers) for a moderate price of 3 for R80 😊 It's cheaper here to buy the DVD than it is to rent it!

So, on our next trip, when we actually buy stuff, we'll post pics 😊

I think a few fuses gave up on the GPS so we did some involuntary sight seeing along the scentic route -which was actually a really good thing cos we managed to get a bit of extra shopping done 😊 We have an iron!! 😊 ...and a pot plant, and other essentials...

We took the subway back to the Deawah station and then were going to take the bus back to the English Village, but while we were trying to work out the Korean bus timetable a really friendly guy came up to us, found out where we were going, called his wife and gave us a lift in his car!! This shortened our would have been hour and a half trip to 40min and extended their trip by about the same! -The Koreans here have been unbelievably friendly and helpful to us- and as we were waving good buy as their car disappeared over the hill of of the English Village, I realised I was still holding the bible and bible study books I'd moved off the seat when I got into the car!!

oops.
