This sign is asking that the public keep the beach clean....then there is the sign that is propped up on it giving directions to the beaches!
Today we left La Paz but not before we got our tires installed at the Good Year place. That was quite an experience! Mike is very particular about everything so after I did all the translating, he then went into the supervisory mode but continued to speak in English to the workers who had no clue. I had to vacate the area.......

After the tires were all on, MIke decides that the tires are not the right ones! All of the specifications were correct but it had something to do with the letter---the originals were R and the new ones were Q. They were very reassuring that these were excellent tires and would do the job but MIKE had to call the tire dudes in Cadillac who then verified that these tires were excellent and even a bit better than the ones we had on previously. Grrrr........so we got on our way to Los Barriles just about 60 miles north of Cabo San Lucas. The drive was another challenge---more hairpin curves and endless hills. But we made it safely here. It has been very windy the last couple of days but warm.

Los Barriles is a small town here

on the Sea of Cortez. The population is about 1,000. Quite a few gringos spend the winter here, especially the wind surfers. This is a great place for that. WE are staying at a RV park called Martin Verdugo's. It is near the beach but not ON the beach. We have to actually walk a few more steps to get there! However, we have full hookup so that is nice. I really do like the dry camping, but after about 5 days, the water gets low and the "black water" tanks get full and you have to move on! And then there is the laundry. So we will stay here for about a wk and tour around the area. We met some fun people at Playa Tecolote and will probably see them again on the way back. Last night we finally were able to have a campfire on the beach as the wind subsided a little!

I have not taken many pics of this area as we have just arrived but will do so later................
