Meindert's dinner ??????
Meindert found a lttle geko and pretended to be Thai, or was is the Dutch in him pretending to eat herring ? Hi everybody,
Well after 4 days staying with Paolo, we are now in Lampang.
The last night in Sukhothai we went to a little night market, and bought our food there. Fresh pineapple, mango, spicy chicken9wowo that Singha beer tasted good after a bite) and desserts that look to pretty to eat, don't want to know how much sugar is in those ones. And then the next stand we had the bugs, fried crunchy bugs and the worms, which according to Meindert were really good, he didn't want to eat one though !!!!!
We are staying in a neat Guesthouse, called the Riverside guesthouse, owned by Lorenza. She is an Italian and a friend of Paolo. We took the bus from Sukhothai to Lampang, about 3 hrs. On the way here you see where and how people live here, unbelievable. Some hardboard with a tarp, put together with rope.
Yesterday we had delicious pizza (yep, really Italian pizza from the restaurant that Lorenza owns), was good to have something different than noodles, curry or rice, cause I can tell you a slice of my own home made bread with good Dutch cheese........
The Thai people have a
One of the many buddha's
This one was in Koh Samui, a newer one very very very big adoration of the King and Queen. every where you go, even in the middle of nowhere somtimes, you will see a big and I mean big picture of the King and/or Queen. And you know what he looks like he is 40 something on those pics, but in real life he is 80.
Anyway today we were at the Elephant Conservation Centre and we booked ourselves in for two days working and looking after Elephants, starting to-morrow. We will be shoveling some different stuff than snow .......
PS If there was some grammar mistakes..... I am sitting here with a dozen of Thai kids playing computer games around me all yapping and laughing,
Will update again in about 2 or 3 days, depending how I survived workcamp with the elephants
