It was Friday afternoon when we arrived in Vang Vieng and we caught a tuk tuk to Champalaos bungalows with Jiles who we met in Phonsavan, it was recommended to us by some girls we also met there. They are cute bungalows and ours is right next to the river with fantastic views in each direction, beauty!

On our first day we didn't really do much, but in the evening we went to a bar with a large fire. No sooner had we got there we saw the Bristol boys (Charlie, Pete, Rich and Zig) and later we also bumped into Justin (another Bristol lad) and Noah (a girl from Israel). So we all had a few drinks, Pete had one too many and Charlie ended up carrying him home.

On Saturday we decided to go tubing, which is basically floating down the river in a large rubber ring, stopping at some of the many bars on the way and going on the numerous flying foxes (zip lines) which are at every bar. Some of the Bristol boys had moved on so there was just 5 of us tubing, Erica, Justin, Rich, Jiles and myself. The zip

lines are great, the fourth bar has the largest line which gave me butterflies when I did it the first time, but it was excellent fun. Erica did one in the second bar but didn't want to do the one in the forth bar it as it was really high.

The route on the river is about 4km and in some areas the water is quite shallow, so you need to lift your bum up so you don't bang it on the rocks. I didn't think I had hit any but when I got out of the water I had a massive rip in my shorts, so we nick named my bum the incredible hulk! We only made it down 1km of the river by 6pm and we had to return our tubes so we got a tuk tuk back and decided to try again tomorrow.

In the evening we were shattered so went back to our bungalows for an early night (think we had our fare share of beer during the day!) but we ended staying up talking till the early hours.

On Sunday we went tubing again, but it was a bit cloudy and rather chilly, we still managed to have a great time. We set off an hour earlier than yesterday to make sure that we completed the course. We even managed to convince Erica to go on the large zip line, she was pretty chuffed with herself afterwards, and so she should be, she went on twice and loved it!

Another early night, as this time we didn't get back until 7pm and we were freezing, luckily I packed my hoody in my dry bag as it was needed. We all slept like babies that night.

On Monday we had a relaxing day and made arrangements to get to Koh Pang Nan in Thailand in time for the full moon party on Saturday 3rd. There were no direct flights and they were too expensive so we booked a night bus to Bangkok where we are having to stay for the night and are flying to Koh Samui early the next morning, the only island with an airport!

Once we had done all this we just chilled out at a bar next to the river where we could see people passing by tubing. The weather was great

today and was perfect to sit at the bar and watch the sunset.

In the evening we all just stayed in chatting again, saving our selves for the full moon party.

On Tuesday morning we rushed around doing last minute things such as going on the internet and packing. We checked out at 12pm and just had enough time to get something to eat, buy some snacks for the long journey and to exchange our kip back into Baht. We then caught our bus at 1pm. It was going to be a long one...
