View from Charles University
This is what I see from my classroom and front steps of my university...beautiful! We started intensive Czech language today (Ahoj means hello, informally of course) and wow...this is going to be difficult, but I think it will be worth the challenge to be able to communicate with the Praguonians (?). Just trying to speak the language really helps gain the respect of the people and lowers your chances of being ripped off by taxi drivers and restuarants. I took a picture of my view from the front steps of the Charles University building where my classes are, it is so beautiful, and I get the same view from the window of my classroom...which can make it hard to concentrate...
Learning about the history of the area and seeing it first hand is a completely new learning experience. Our professor was discussing the defenestration in Prague in 1618 (if you do not know about defenestration wikipedia it) and then pointed from the classroom window to the exact window of the castle that the Protestants were thrown out of...incredible.
I also got to ride on an escalater-elevator...one of the coolest inventions ever. The building where the school office is has one and I rode up and down it a few times. It is a continuously moving
Going Up
The coolest contraption ever. elevator and you have to step on and off while it is moving, it is a lot of fun and I had to resist the urge to play on it all day. I put up the pictures of me going up and down.
