were in florence today! took the eurostar fast train into the city and arrived not too long ago.. (meaning around 1 pm). i already like florence a lot... i think rome was a little too crazy and dirtier. but then again i haevnt seen much of florence yet so well see. apparently most people work monday-saturday and suday is the only real day off. so, most of the stores are closed today.
last night was alot of fun... matt and i went out with matts brothers girlfriends friend and her boyfriend... haha... they were really cool. we went to dinner at this cute little place that was recommended to us near the pantheon, and after that they took us to "Rialto," this kind of big underground artsy club space where they played experimental and techno music and had these weird crazy projected videos on the walls. it was really smoky in there and got a little hot, but it was a ton of fun. it was nice to see a side of rome that tourists dont see... (i think we were the only americans in there). i think we got home at 3 last night. oh yeah, and before that
yesterday we walked around to see the trevi fountain, passed by piazza navona, and the spanish steps again and the pantheon.

im back in the internet cafe. we spent today reaxing mostly and just getting a feel for the city. walked past the duomo and some great piazzas with sculptures. i love florence. im really going to miss it here when we have to leave. also did a little shopping.. well, matt did.. hes bought way more than i have since ive been here, how embarassing! i really have to start catching up. after some amazing nutella and banana crepes, a cup and cone of gelato, and shopping, (mostly window shopping since not much was open on sunday), we went to dinner at this place with great prosciutto and mozarella, and HUGE delicious ricotta and spinach raviolis in a cream sauce. yum. if it werent for the fact that were walking a ton every day i think i would have gained 10 pounds already, no joke.
