Today we had to be ready to catch the bus, to take us to the train which would take us to Dublin at 6:30. The train ride went by pretty fast. Our first stop was the Guinness brewery. The tour was okay, we really didn't get to see a whole lot, but at the end we all got a free pint! There were a lot of 'happy' people at 11:30 in the morning. The rest of the day was fairly uneventful. We had tickets to this hop on hop off bus tour, so we went around the city. We really didn't have enough time to see very much so we ended up really only seeing Trinity College and the Book of Kells, and Christ Church Cathedral. Trinity has a beautiful campus. Another reason for us not seeing a whole lot, was because of the weather. It was raining on and off all day, and was really cold. We made one stop in town because we were going to meet everyone for lunch, but we ended up not finding them, deciding the food at the particular place was too expensive, saw a Starbucks(they are only in Dublin) and decided to go there instead. I got a hazelnut hot chocolate(which is now my new favorite), and an almond croissant(which was sort of disappointing). Other than that, not much to say. Dublin is a big city, there are a lot of people. It would be nice to go back again sometime when I have more time and can look around a little more, but all in all it was a fun trip.

The West
Emily - I hope you have time to get down to Doolin while you're in Galway. It's just before you get to the Cliffs of Moher and a great place to spend the night if you're going to see the cliffs. Tiny town, lots of fun. If you go the other way Westport is a really nice little town. If you're into hiking Croagh Patrick is worth looking into. A VERY satisfying climb, with one of the best views in Ireland on a clear day. I'm American, but I used to live in Dublin and work for Guinness, which is how I stumbled into your blog. I'm jealous that you're there and I'm not. If you want other tips on where to go, let me know! I've been back over there about 6 times in the last 7 years. Have fun!! -b
