Just South of Warm Springs is Plains Georgia, the home of our 39th President James Earl Carter. We were coming in from the West so we came to the Jimmy Carter’s Boyhood Home first. It was not only his home but also a farm. I thought it was a great experience visiting his boyhood home. Jimmy Carter said it best:

“My life on the farm during the Great Depression more nearly resembled farm life of fully 2000 years ago than farm life today.
I have reflected on it often since that time; social eras change at their own curious pace, depending on geography and technology and a host of other factors. It is incredible with what speed those changes have totally transformed both the farming methods and the very life-style I knew in my boyhood.”

Jimmy Carter’s boyhood home is preserved intact. It is fun to walk through it and imagine life in that time. It is similar to the Eisenhower boyhood home in Abilene Kansas. Both Presidents had similar backgrounds. They both knew work; poverty, God and they both used a service academy to move on.

Plains Georgia was described to me a couple of stores and

that’s all. Actually, it is a neat little town. I was walking by the Carter house taking photos when a little girl came outriding a bike. As she rode by she said: “Hello, how are you?” I really enjoyed Plains and if you want to buy some of the best peanuts in the world go to Plains Georgia. Maybe because they are fresh but for whatever reason they are the best.

Jimmy Carter's House

Carter home correction
The house you have identified as Jimmy Carter's is not. I believe it is the secret service facility outside the former President's true home.
