Edit Blog Post

The drive from Dublin to Kilarney was four hours long with one stop . It was pretty enough and I did get to do the blog so I shouldn't complain. Kilarney has a compact town center easy to navigate . There Is a National Park in the center which was once a private estate. There are acres of land , much of it mowed green grass , a mansion/museum and flower beds and pathways all the way down to a lake . Historically there are churches. I have found most of the churches to be Church of Ireland NOT Catholic which surprises me . Dining was again an event . I had roast lamb with a cider for my beverage . Both were great .

The evening was capped with a 90 minute Celtic performance . Wow . A 2022 Riverdance without the slightly obnoxious lead dancer . There were 6 dancers in all 5 of whom were either natioal or international winners . The neat thing was they were all having fun . The young men were certainly compeating but seemed to respect each other's skills . I bought the CD of the performance and look forward to watching it at home .

Day 2 here was spent driving around the Ring of Kerry. Out of the farmlands into the rocky "mountains". ( My Rocky Mountain snobbery just lkicked in .) I say it might be a drive similar to the Cabot Trail with a few more vistas thrown in . There were/are several StoneForts built by Vikings , graveyards remnanents of castles and keeps . An old oak forest by the Tor(?) Falls was majestic. The moss growing everywhere was beautiful .

Back in town we went for our guides favourite fish and chips and I was disappointed with them. I'll behave to try them again while I'm here .

Today was the drive to Galway . At the rest stop i entered the Trinitarian Monzstory . This order was formed to rescue hostages taken by the Crusaders . Interesting . Never heard of such a thing

When we arrived here we had a walking tour of the city . It is an interesting place with history that reaches back to the 12oo's and beyond . I must say my feet were tired and did not get as much out of the tour as I could have .

To night I am having supper with a young woman I tra yelled with in Eastern Europe .

Must go and get ready . As always I hope all is well. And again I enjoy getting your comments.

Eastman
I am at Eastman with Ginette. The fall colors are at their best and it is 20 degrees today. I received a memory from Facebook. We were in Nova Scotia 5 years ago. Remember! And you are in a Celtic environment again. Godd memories.

Connections
Hi. Hope the feet are rested from walking Galway City. So glad you were able to connect with a fellow traveller from the past Here we are fighting the wind. The leaves are swirling down from the wildly swaying trees. Most exciting.
