This is one of our kids favorite Dr. Seuss Books... Life is full of adventure and roads that we choose to travel down from day to day. We wake up each morning and make choices using our heads and our hearts as to which direction our feet will then travel. Living in Tanzania seems to be a new adventure each and every morning. Wondering what lies ahead in store for you in the upcoming hours.
As I was reading this classic children's book to little Gracie this morning, I began to think about all the choices that we face in life that effect our final destination. Each day is a new day and each day has a story of it's own as to where life takes you in your adventures. You make right turns and wrong turns all along the way. Some travel the same roads each day and forget to take notice of all the oppertunities that pass them by. Some travel different routes each day trying to find a better way of life and new and exciting story to tell. Some follow the rules to a tee and others like to stretch the limits... Some like to
What a doll!
Big Sister was carrying around this little one all day! She giggled and laughed every time you looked at her... ride the fence line a little too close and some like to stay clear of any danger what-so ever... we each have our own ways of living life. Some more daring, some more timid, some by faith and some by sight... some of us jump into the lake with both feet, while others like to dangle their toes in to test the waters. the fact of the matter is, we all have our mountains to climb and our valleys to trek. We all have choices to make along the way that effect the paths on which we will travel. The end of this charming children's book simply challenges you to get going. To get on your way... to move forward, to press on. when you fall down to get back up again. and I wanted to share it with each of you!
Now.....
Go Climb that Mountain! Congratulations! Today is your day.
You're off to great places! You're off and Away!
You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And you are the guy who'll
Grace & Beauty
captured in the heart of a child decide where to go.
You'll look up and down streets.
Look em' over with care.
About some you will say, "I don't choose to go there."
With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet,
You're too smart to go down any not-so-good street.
And you may not find any you'll want to go down.
In that case of course, you'll head straight out of town.
It's opener there, in the wide open air.
Out there things can happen and frequently do
to people as brainy and footsy as you.
And when things start to happen don't worry. Don't stew.
Just go right along. You'll start happening too.
Oh, the Places You Will GO!
You'll be on your way up! You'll be seeing the sights!
You'll join the high flyers who soar to great heights.
(you get the idea).....
So... be your name Buxbaum or Bixby, or Bray
or Mordecai Ali van Allen O'Shea,
you're off to great places! Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting. So....get on your way!
Hope you're all having a blessed week! we love you and miss you all. Hope
