Imagine, by the end of this week, it will be already 4 months that we settled in the Seychelles!

But before this, allow me to wish you and all your families an Happy New Year and best wishes for 2020! May it be a wonderful years for all where we keep visiting our little planet, understand and meet others...and believe that all those populists on earth should not lead those with an open mind to lower grounds!

So four months already on our small island of 65,000 souls! So far, so good! Well, I have to admit, it feels good to be able to get out from time to time. I don't think I could survive on a small island for a continuous 12 months! But so far, love the way we are doing it!

I'm lucky that Tanya doesn't work most week-ends I'm on the island....actually, she hasn't work ay of those week-ends! So we explore a little more...at the island pace our surroundings. We went to the Jardins du Roi, a pretty cool botanical garden in Anse Royale, went a a full boat trip around St Anne and Ile Moyenne....drove around the full island more than once. If you know me, you know I love cooking...so finding any new available place to shop is always a treasure hunt here!

I spend my week days mainly between the golf and diving. Commuting around takes some time....walking...waiting for buses who never show up on time (more than once you simply miss the bus, as the driver decided to run 10 minutes ahead of schedule)! We only rent a car 24 hours per week-end and on public holidays. But the island of Mahe is gorgeous....so here the key to be happy is simple..be patient...smile to people and enjoy the beautiful scenery!

On the golf side, I even took the first prize at the Club Championship in the second category. Not bad here for my first three days golf competition in the Seychelles. Well, it's a small 9 holes...so keeping me busy enough two to three days per week. Been raining nicely pretty often too, so I'm learning to play the hide and seek game with the rain, equipped with my umbrella!

On the diving side...it's more eagle rays, more little sharks and even a cool dolphin who came to greet me for my first birthday day! I'm nearly part of the locals by now at the dive center. Very happy to have found those guys. Ok, this is not as good as my hood in South Africa. But here the visibility is always mainly pretty amazing, the water is a cool blue and 29 degrees....it's just easy and relax diving...as they would say...chill, you are in the Seychelles! We are still awaiting for a first sighting of a whaleshark. It is the seasons, but they all seem to have a huge meeting in Nosy Be, Madagascar!

Obviously, this is also the time of the year when we celebrate. Tanya working in the hotel industry means a lot of work...but once we were behind the New year Day, everything went smoothly.

So enjoy the pictures...as you can see, we are spending a lot of time on the beaches...they see both of us each week-end, plus me from time to time during the week....I love the waves on our home beach at Intendance Beach!
