Day 2

Day 2 ~

We woke up at 11 so today’s blog for yesterday might be a bit short. As soon as we woke up and got dressed we walked down to Pier 39. I got a salted pretzel which took a while to get because all the America’s were pushing in line. Then we walked around the pier to see some seals. They were very noisy and they loved a good fight with each other.



We then walked to the bus stop to get on the double decker bus. When we got on bus we plugged our headphones in and listened to the tour guide. After driving around for a bit we decided to get of at the Haight Ashbury District and got some lunch. We walked through the streets for a little bit and then we stopped at a Mexican restaurant. Bella and I had nachos and watched the bull fighting on the tv. This was unusual because at almost every food place they had the baseball on. After lunch, we walked back to the bus stop and got back on the bus. Bella, mum and I got very sunburnt but dad didn’t at all. We went to a few stops and then stopped again so we thought the bus was trying to get back onto the times for the timetable. The bus then didn’t move for 30 minutes. Dad went to ask the bus driver what was going on and he just said there is another bus on it’s way. When that bus arrived there were already people on the bus so everyone was trying to push in and get on the bus. Because we are nice Aussies we let everyone in front of us and had to wait for the next bus. After waiting for an hour we got on the bus. Bella and mum sat on the bottom level of the bus and dad and I sat at the top. Our tour guide was very annoying and dad and I took our headphones out at one point. If I could have have a $1 for every time she reminded us to tip her when we got off the bus I would be rich. We then drove over the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a relief when the tour guide turned her microphone off because of the wind. The bridge was an amazing sight and dad and I took lots of photos and videos. When we got over the bridge lots of people got off the bus so mum and Bella came up to the top level. Mum came up because she thought Bella wanted to, and Bella came up because she thought mum wanted to. Bella then had a tantrum because she was scared, because mum made a joke about the bus tipping over the edge into the water. We then did a loop and went back over the bridge.



After the bus tour we walked around the harbour for a restaurant to go to for dinner. We found a seafood restaurant. Bella and I got calamari, mum got clam chowder and dad got a crab chowder. Mum’s chowder was in a sour dough bowl. We then walked back to the apartment and on the way we went to a ice cream place. We then went to bed.

Zoe, Your travel Blog was hysterical ! Your first day in America, and having to spend it on the top level of a bus with whirling winds and a very annoying tour guide....welcome to America !
