Turns out there is now a internet station in Tengboche.

We've just arrived.

It was a steep climb, but again I was using my tried and tested small steps. (I'm in no rush) I feel good and am in good health keeping up my water regime when others are slipping. I'm a bit of a stickler for keeping to my own set of rules 😊

We arrived in cloud cover. A few flakes of snow. Just when we were wondering whether that mountain was going to end, we turned the corner there stood the monastry. Everything is calm and the bleakness is interjected with the colour from it. Crows skawk and the odd dog lies on the plateau we're on. There are four or five buildings here at most. Two monks heralded our arrival by blowing horns from their window. This place is magical and serene.

I have hundreds of photos but sadly can't share them with you at the moment. Lots of black and white pictures of faces... The people here are rich in character.

The trail was very dusty today all the way.

This will be my last entry here until I return back from Everest.

See you soon.

Gareth

Gareth, I'm rooting for you coping with the altitude, and having a fantastic experience on your way to the high point of the trip. Look forward to hearing your account when you get home, and hearing more about the difference your fund-raising will make. Zoe

Great Gareth
With so much motivation, this travel is the concrete realisation of your "engagement". I am proud of you. I know that you will not stop there. Maybe are you less selfish that you believe it;) Je te souhaite beaucoup de bonheur et des rencontres fructueuses. x Carole
