A Desert Paradise, only with extremely overpriced food.

After Lima, I took the bus to Ica, which is a 3 hour journey south.
I went right through Ica to Huacachina, which is where the tourists go -Peruvian and otherwise. A nice guy I had met in Lima gave me the name of a cheap hostel, which the first taxi driver I ecountered, conveniently enough, was being paid to bring tourists to.
Huacachina is really incredible, and I spent my 1 1/2 days there sitting near the lake, playing guitar and drinking beer.
And climbing up a sand dune. This was the most tiring thing I´ve done in quite some time, but the views are incredible - dunes in shades of grey and brown stretching to the horizon in most directions, and the little lake below.
Here is a picture of me looking very, very adventurous. I did not include the picture of me sliding down on me bum.

Mary, this little oasis is so beautiful! What the hell happens when there is a sand storm?? Do they have electricity?
