Dobré Jitro Everyone!

After the few days in Budapest we moved on-
Next up was Prague , which meant back on the beloved autocar, but this time our sentence was only 12 hours- this thrilled me!

Once in Prague we had to regroup yet again change currency yet again
and try and figure out the Signs (all in Czech) yet again...

Whern we arrive to our hotel I was a little worried when I saw and smelled the inside. But were soon told (in only Czech mind you...here goes the Sherades game again..) by the hotel worker that we were being moved....,but to where? We had no idea but the words "appartment" and "we go" kept being thrown around and judging by her gesturing with her hands to illustrate the phrase « very big » I thought this has to be a good thing!

And good it was - we lived in the lap of luxury for three days in a beautiful loft appartment at no extra charge. I found out that our upgrade was due to an overflow of tour group bookings in the hotel, well , lucky us!! Apparently the hotel owns a chain of rental lofts in the city. Fantastic!

We explored the city on foot the first day and took a walking tour the next day. My favorite partt was eating more Goulosh and (they really like to eat) potato dumplings
Did you know that The Czech republic has the highest beer consumption in the world?? Well now we both do, and I can say that the beers there are VERY good, try one some time! And of course, yours truly did a sampling of the desserts in the CR and the conclusive report is that the yummy apple strudels are to die for...
One great surpirse was the falling of snow on the first night in the city. We all felt a tinge of romance and wished we had a cute someone to cozy up to.
The next morning we awoke to a white blanket of snow out our (did I mention luxury?) aprtment. It suddenly became VERY COLD- which resulted in my purchase of a flashy snow hat -see photos! World War II left Prague slightly unscathed in comparison to the rest of central and western Europe. The city looks like disney world (and felt like it too with all the crowds of tourists!!) with its colorful fairy-tale style architecture.

One of my favorite memories is crossing the infamously beautiful Charles Bridge, with all its street vendors and musicians and marinette performers.
Kelly and I took a stroll through Wencelas Square where Mozart premeired his opera Don Giovanni. Tourists can pay to see the opera performed by mariennettes; i didn't
though but know that you can if you go! ;-)

We chose to take in the romantic opera of Aida at the National Theatre. We had box seats, and I stress the word BOX. That thing was très très petit!! It was a great show though and I understand even more fully why where the name for soap operas came from...

To all the ladies out there, shopping in Prague is lots of fun! Amber and garnets are products of the CR and I could not resist buying myself a garnet ring since it is my birthstone the currency is not the Euro yet, like hungary and I took advantage of this! Dining in prague,
like budapest , is fabulous! One can eat a four courser with a few drinks and dessert and pay the same price as one would pay for a salad in paris!

Both Prague and Budapest are very magical cities and I would return to both faster than you can say "Goulash Soup"!!

Coolest Clock ever
The famous Astronomical clock in the center of Old Town.
It is from the 14th century and the two clock faces disply the astrological sign og the month, the placement of the planets and the moons, and of course of the time! It hasnt been tampered with since the 15th or 16th century... every hour on the hour the twelve apostles pop out of the clock with all it's bells and whistles, it makes for cheap entertainment!

This cathedral has a cool history, it took many centuries to complete iit and its architectural style spans several centuries.
