Me on the phone to Justice before flying to GhanaSaturday 12
th January today is the day I’m going back to Ghana in which I’m so excited, as I have so much planned! At 10:30AM me and my dad started our journey to the airport. Once, at the airport me and my dad needed to quickly go to Boots to get mine and his malaria tablets in which costs so much £44 each!
After, we collected our tablets me and my dad went to the First-Class BA lounge in which I got a big English breakfast with grapes and a hot chocolate, seriously speaking airports do the best hot chocolates. Whilst, eating I managed to do some coursework, so that I can finish the rest on the plane.
When, we finally reached the plane we weren’t allowed to board, as they had to do security checks and finish cleaning the plane. We were 1 hour delayed before being able to board. Once, we finally got onto the plane we were seated in club world in which means I have a bed, in which I won’t be using, as I’ll be watching movies and doing
my coursework during the flight. Before, taking off I was on the phone to Justice saying the next time you will hear my voice I will be in Ghana and we both cant believe that I’m actually coming back to Ghana today!
On, the flight to Ghana was quite a turbulent flight, but the scenery from the windows was, so beautiful! On, the plane I watched Bad Neighbours 2, Juliet Naked and Mama Mia 2. The food on the plane tasted so good! And I’m someone who doesn’t normally like plane food. I did manage to complete all Bridget’s coursework. When, landing I couldn’t stop smiling, as I can’t believe I’m actually back in Ghana!
Getting through the new terminal was very quick, as normally we would wait hours for our bags, but this time our bags came straight out. Once, we met with our hotel driver we made our way to the Palm Royal Hotel, on our journey one of my favourite songs came on the radio (Akwaaba written by Mr Eazi), akwaaba means welcome in which I thought this was the perfect song, as I had just arrived back in Ghana. Me crying on the phone to Justice before flying back to the UK told the driver to turn the music louder, in which I was dancing and singing so crazy, in which my dad just looked at me, he didn’t seem very amused.
Once, we arrived at the hotel and finished checking in we made our way to our hotel room in which when my dad was in the bathroom, I thought it would be a good idea to do a quick mini workout to burn some of the plane food.
Sunday, this morning I woke up at 7, as today I’m going to Church in which I’m so excited, as I miss going to Church. So, at 8:30 I made my way to Church in which I got a trotro even though my dad said get a taxi. I got the trotro from the hotel to the Cold Store and then I got a taxi to beach drive in which when I finally arrived at the Church at 9AM people all ready were coming out from 1
st service, in which I arrived right on time for the 2
nd service.
Church service was really good it was about not letting anyone who doesn’t want

Me sleeping back home to the UK you too do good in your life then you should take them out of your life and continue to do better without them. Whilst, at Church I was praying and dancing with this woman and it was so much fun. After, Church I reunited with Justice I had the biggest smile on my face I was so happy to see him again Justice greeted me with a big smile and a massive hug.
So, me and Justice walked a little bit before we got the taxi to the Junction Mall in which we straight away went to the supermarket to get school supplies for the school children. We, brought chocolate, Crips, ice cream, note book, lots of pens etc… In, which cost a total of 49 cedies. After, the mall me and Justice went back to the hotel to drop off our shopping in which my dad was able to reunite with Justice again as well.
After, talking to my dad me and Justice went to visit his sister Eunice at her place. In which I wanted to surprise her, but she surprised me and Justice, as she was hiding and made us jump.
At, the sisters place we watched music in which Eunice kindly made us some indomie it was amazing! After, eating me, Justice and Eunice made our way to my new school to go and meet the headmaster, in which the headmaster was very happy to see me and was very welcoming.
After, talking to the headmaster us 3 made our way back to the sister’s place in which she gave us more food in which was this triangle spring rolls thing, they tasted so good! After, eating me and Justice spent the rest of the afternoon talking, before we had more food in which me and Eunice ate together in which was Fufu. After, we finished eating again I gave Justice and Eunice all of their presents they were so grateful they didn’t know how to thank me enough.
After, the presents Eunice walked me and Justice to the trotro. In, which Justice kindly dropped me back at the hotel, in which he gave me a big hug before leaving. After, Justice went I joined my dad in the restaurant to have dinner in which we talked about our day.
Monday,
this morning Justice came to collect me at 8:30 to take me to his sister’s place, in which there we had to wait for the headmaster to call us to come to the school, as he wasn’t there at the moment. So, that morning me and Justice spent it watching music it was so much fun. At 11:45 me and Justice made our way back to my old school, as I promised them at 12, I would come and visit them. I arrived at the school at 12:20 in which whilst in the taxi one of my older students saw me and jumped into the taxi, it was so funny.
As, soon as I got to the school all the children went crazy, they were so happy and shocked that I actually came back. I walked into the first classroom and there was Madam Gina who had to take a second look before realising it was me and she gave me a massive hug. Madam Esther was like “Izzie I have missed you!” And Junior was there and was like “Eliza” and gave me a hug. I spent the time talking to Junior and Esther, as I
have missed them so much. Then Sir Seth came in and gave me a massive teddy bear hug. And said for me to come to the headmaster’s office, in which there was Sir Dennis, another Sir and Sir Bortey. We all talked and they begged for me to not go to the new school. As, I tried to leave Junior he was like no, as he wanted us to talk, as we haven’t spoken for a long time. Whilst, speaking to Junior the headmaster came in and gave me a huge hug, as well and said welcome back. After, finishing speaking to Junior I donated the school equipment, and went to meet Justice again.
When, I met Justice we made our way to the spring rolls place in which Eunice came and joined us. After, eating me, Justice and Eunice made our way to Spintex, so that I can meet the other sister Megjane. Megjane was so kind in which she greeted me with a massive hug. However, all three of them were complaining about there being too much sugar in coke, it was so funny.
After, meeting Megjane we made our way to
First Junction to go mug shopping for my dad. In, which I brought 5 mugs at a cost of 19 cedies.
After, shopping we made our way too this women’s place who makes African wear, as she will be making me 2 Ghanaian skirts. After, seeing the women we made our way to the sister’s place in which me and Justice sat outside talking and sharing about our problems, so we have a better understanding off each other. Then Eunice and her boyfriend Michelle sat with us and we talked about malaria tablets and malaria as a whole.
After, talking me and Justice went back to the hotel and Justice gave me another big hug before going. Then, I went to sit with my dad to eat dinner outside in which I started crying, as I really don’t want to leave Ghana, as this country is seriously my home.
Tuesday, this morning we woke up at 7AM again, but today I woke up with so much energy I don’t know why I was so excited about today. So, after breakfast I made my way to the school, but on the way

The view from above to Ghana to the school I had to get into a different trotro, as my trotro had smoke coming out of the engine.
Once, I got to school at 9 I went to the headmaster’s office in which the headmaster wrote me a timetable for the week. When, waiting to teach I did some coursework and showed my coursework too some of the teachers, as they found my coursework very interesting. Next, moment three girls from class 6 came to ask if I could teach them, so of course I said yes. As, soon as I got into class 6 Edgar one of the special need’s student put his arm around me and wouldn’t stop smiling it was amazing too see him happy, as Edgar gets bullied by everyone (teachers and students), because too them he is different, as he has a physical disability.
In, class 6 I was teaching them communication, as on Thursday they will be performing their own group interaction. The students were amazing at it they came up with a variety of ideas such as; drugs/ alcohol, this Ghanaian movie and prayers/ worship. At, 11:45 my dad and Justice came to the
school to join me teaching, as they found it very interesting.
At, 12:10 I closed from school and me, Justice and my dad met with Michelle, so we can look at the new apartment. The apartment is very small, but with a little decoration the apartment would look amazing. After, apartment looking Justice showed me and my dad a children’s development school centre. In which tomorrow I shall visit the school.
After, we were done looking me and Justice dropped my dad back at the hotel in which I quickly had a shower, as I was really sweaty it was disgusting. After, my shower me and Justice made our way to the Junction Mall in which of course me and Justice went food shopping in which we brought fan ice, strawberry fab milk and coke which was the cost of 4 cedies. After, shopping me and Justice went looking in clothes shops, after looking me and Justice made our way to a beach, but it was 10 cedies for entry, in which Justice asked if there was any food and the man was like no in which Justice was like 10 cedies to look
at a beach I have already seen the beach it was too funny.
So, me and Justice decided to go to the Labadi Beach in which we stayed there until after sunset in which me and Justice sat there and joked and talked. After, the beach Justice walked me back to the hotel in which he gave me a big hug before he left.
Wednesday, today was a really good day, as this morning I went to school without any problems, and I arrived at the school right on 9AM, I was very surprised. When, I got to the school I greeted all the madams and made my way to the headmaster’s office.
I had 1 hour before I start my lesson, in which I was able to complete some coursework. When, it reached 10AM I made my way to class 4 in which this is a set of new students, as I don’t teach children under class 4. For, that lesson we played a country quiz, multiplication competition and then I taught them simple/ compound sentences and positive/ negative context, honestly the children worked so hard. After, teaching I sat in the headmaster’s office in which me, Junior and Sir Bortey were talking about UK and the EU and Ireland, when I got to the office, they brought me Pepsi in which was defiantly needed. Before, I left the school I spoke to Sir Dennis in which the conversation was so funny. After, finished talking to Sir Dennis I said my goodbyes to the madams and Sir Frank and Junior.
Outside, the school was Justice, as he was waiting for me to close from school, so that we could go and eat rice and stew and chicken, in which the chicken was amazing! After, eating me and Justice went to a children’s development centre school in which the school was too young for me to teach, as the age group only goes up too KSG 2. After, visiting the school we met with Michelle in which we went back to the new apartment and all the wallpaper has been done the wallpaper looks amazing and makes the apartment to look much nicer.

Showing my dad around the apartment and Justice made our way back to the hotel, so I can get changed, but when we got to the room a man stopped me, as he wanted to ask where’s the best place to exchange cedies into dollars in which I asked him are you sure you want to do that, as you won’t get much money back? I told the man directions, but he doesn’t know Ghana the way I do, so I wasn’t really much help.
After, getting changed me and Justice went to the Labadi Beach in which we sat on the sand and watched the sunset and the surfers. Ghana is so beautiful.
Thursday, today Junior called me in the morning about me coming to the school early, as today is my last day at the school for January and Junior wants to say goodbye, before he goes and teaches at the other school for that morning, in which I did try and leave early, but I wasn’t organised at all. So, as I was already running late, I decided to get a taxi today to school instead of a trotro. The first taxi I stopped the man said

Outside mine and Justice new apartment 20 cedies, in which I agreed to and off I went too school.
When, I got to school Junior was very happy to see me, as he needed to sort something out with me. When, me and Junior were done sorting the thing out, Junior asked for me to walk him out, as he’s going to the other school. So, after walking Junior off he gave me a big hug. For, the rest of the morning at school my dad and Justice came and we were talking with the other teachers about the meaning of different flags in Africa. Before, leaving the school I spoke to some of the students in which some were sad that I was leaving so soon.
After, school me and Justice walked my dad to his taxi in which when my dad was gone me and Justice then went to our favourite place for lunch in which we had rice and tomato stew and fan ice and 1 chicken. After, eating me and Justice went to donate to the orphanage, as we forgot to donate in the summer, so we got the donation and gave it to the orphanage.
After, the orphanage me and Justice went back to the hotel, so I can get changed, but when we got to the room, the cleaner was cleaning it, so me and Justice went too see my dad instead and he told us to walk around the whole hotel grounds, as the gardens are very big. So, off me and Justice went wondering around the gardens like some pair of gnomes. But the hotel gardens are very beautiful. After, walking around the garden me and Justice went to go and get changed. When, finished getting changed me and Justice went to the Labadi Beach.
At, the Labadi Beach Justice took me on a walk to walk the whole beach in which was amazing, as the sea breeze is exactly what you need after a hot long day. Then, Justice friend Enock came to join us, as he wanted to discuss with me all of Justice plans for his new business. After, talking about the business we walked Enock back to the beach gates and me and Justice spent the rest of the evening on the beach. If which that evening Justice asked me to be
his girlfriend and of course I said yes! Even though we were already sort of dating before. When, me and Justice were leaving the beach we said our prayers out to sea and went back to the hotel to meet my dad for dinner.
Friday, today sadly is my last day in Ghana, as today I will be flying back to the cold UK. So, this morning around 9AM Justice came to the hotel to meet me and my dad, so we can go sight seeing together.
The first place we stopped at was the independence square in which we got photos and walked around the beach in which my dad got into trouble, as he went the wrong way opps… After, walking on the independence square we made our way across the road to the Freedom of Justice in which this time we weren’t able to go to the top.
After, finishing taking plenty of photos, we made our way to the Kwame Museum in which this is one of my favourite places so far in Ghana. Whilst, at the museum we met this man who has his family in
the UK, but this man can no longer see his children, as the UK won’t allow him to have anymore Visa.
Once, we were done touring around the museum we made our way back to the hotel, so I can get something before leaving. So, off me and Justice went on our last adventures, in which we got a trotro and went back to the school so I could give something back to Junior, in which was very awkward, as Justice and Junior don’t like each other.
After, the school me and Justice went to the Junction Mall, as me and Justice had to do our last food shopping together. As, I want to have some of my favourite snacks with me in the UK, unfortunately I can’t bring Fan Ice home, as that would just melt and go everywhere, but the total cost of the shopping was 88 cedies.
After, food shopping me and Justice went back to see the women who has finished making my 2 skirts, the skirts look so beautiful and they fit, so perfectly. After, I collected my skirts we went back to Eunice house in

Me and one of my students which no one was there, so me and Justice made ourselves comfortable by listening to music. At, 4 Justice decided to make me some indomie in which tasted incredible.
After, eating me and Justice quickly made our way back to the hotel, as I need to be back at the hotel by 5. When, I got back to the hotel room I knew this was the horrible part of the week, as now somehow, I need to say goodbye to Justice. Saying goodbye to Justice wasn’t easy at all, as I couldn’t stop crying, we tried to walk away from each other, but then we turned back to each other, so we had to say goodbye again, in which this time when we walked away it was for good, it was horrible leaving him, but I will see him again in the summer.
After, finishing packing my suitcase me and my dad made our way to the airport in which after going through security, we sat in the lounge looking at the planes landing. When, it was time to board the plane I couldn’t control myself from crying, even sitting on the plane I
was crying on the phone to Eunice and Justice until we took off.
Altogether, that is the end of my 1-week work experience in Ghana and I’m so thankful that my dad and my college made it possible for me to be able to come back for this week. I want to say a big thank you for Justice and Eunice for caring and looking after me and getting me a new school to teach at, I’m forever grateful! And I can’t wait to make my next Ghana return in the summer 22
