It was great to wake this morning and know we are still on route to St Thomas.
As our next and final destination is Port Canaveral in Florida, when we get to St Thomas they will do the immigration clearance of all the passengers and crew. This will save a massive lot of time when we finally disembark Norwegian Epic
As we have a small tour booked for St Thomas we have a slot at 8.30 in the morning for our immigration clearance.
We are up really early and in the buffet for breakfast for about 6.30am. The last few days it has taken us a few hours to complete breakfast with so many people wanting our attention, so we do not want that to delay us today.
When we arrived at Manhattans restaurant for the customs clearance, there as already a few people there, so it was nice to talk to some more different people. We have met people from all over the world on this cruise.
After that, we are able to leave the ship and proceed to our tour which is a small boat ride around the port of Charlotte Amalie.
We
were dropped off in the town. From there, we had choices. These were to either stay in town or await the boat to take us back, or to walk back to the ship. We chose to walk back. It was about 2.5 miles. With the sun beating down, it was nice to find the occasional bit of shade.
From the coastal walk, we were able to see all the ships in port today. In port today is the Caribbean Princess and the Regal Princess. These are both Princess Cruises. In the smaller dock, the Norwegian Getaway is also in St Thomas for the day.
On a previous visit to St Thomas we visited a local supermarket near to the port. We had a quick visit there today, although we only left with a couple of cold drinks. It was a welcome chance to take a break out of the sun though.
When we returned to our cabin, there was a message from the PA for the hotel manager Nelson. In response to our comment sheet completed earlier in the week, Nelson would like to see us tomorrow morning at 9.00am. If we call her, she
will meet us in reception.
We are both feeling a bit weary from the sun today, so had a quick dinner in the buffet and retired to the cabin early.
