Merry Christmas
Lulu was naughty! Just like we planned. We celebrated an early Christmas with our family yesterday. A joyous time with our dear ones. They came from near (Scio) and far (Rochester). We had enough food to hang a “Golden Corral-aka: The Trough” sign out front. Everyone was welcome. I’m not sure if you all got that word. We’ll do better next time. Lulu was thrilled to be a part of the celebration.....she just loves festive events. There was even a slight coating of snow on the ground that added to the mood. As in the words of Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney: ???“I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas.”??? After everyone left, we scurried around like busy chipmunks. The family had all helped in putting some things away. We had our last minute stuff to mark off our departure list...list”S”...somehow we had 3 lists to work off. By the time we were done, we were both so stiff and crippled that we went to bed at 8:30 PM. And that’s the truth! Fortunately, Lulu doesn’t feel the pain like we do. She does gets a headache, earache, toothache, chancre sore, stuffy nose, cold sore, pimple, conjunctivitis, lice, sore throat, dry mouth and neck ache on
occasion. But she never utters a word of misery about any of it. We get full body aches & pains. Owwwwww! It’s hell getting old!
Just like we planned. We closed up our old homestead and bid it a farewell at 9:00 this morning. We were impressed that most of you were ready to go on time. Those who weren’t.....well, you know who you are! Let’s try and do better next time - okay? Florida ....here we come....again! Just as Cory was hauling out our last load, an old (but younger than us) friend from the hills of Pennsylvania stopped by to wish us a Merry Christmas. His name is David and he was one of my patients so very many, many years ago. He has had a rough life but never fails to give us a big, happy smile. Merry Christmas, David.
It’s so different traveling up and back in our car. Cory takes fully liberty with the gas pedal knowing he’s not towing a car behind him. As my hair goes back into that wind swept look of a hood ornament (And that’s not easy with my short hairdo), I bring the excess mph’s to his
attention. I’ll just say that Cory mumbles “something unpleasant” back to me for my willing & thoughtful help. Just trying to keep us out of the clink.....especially on Christmas Eve! ???Away in the jail, Cory & Sandy look pale...and poor Little Lulu, all withered & frail.???
Just like we planned. The weather and roads were just fine. The only place it was bad was in our driveway in front of our pole barn. Cory said it was slick with ice. As we headed in our southerly direction, the overcast clouds parted and the sun shone brightly. Out came the sunglasses while we turned down the car heater. Lulu began to perspire. She’s hot stuff!
We drove a little longer than what we wanted to and ended up in Wytheville, Virginia for the night. We are at The Country Inn & Suites. Arrived here at 7:00 PM. Didn’t bother to go to our room. Took right off for an Applebee’s that the clerk said would be open. Got just a little lost even with our GPS, Tom-Tom & Waze. It was warm and festive at the restaurant. I snapped a couple photos to show you and Lulu. She was
whipped and decided to stay in the car. She doesn’t have a big appetite.....food doesn’t digest well....you know why — no stomach.

Christmas eve
Sounds like you had a wonderful early Christmas. Be careful driving back to Florida.and will see you soon. Will be there Jan. 1st you write s7ch a good story!!
