Today we got to our camp near Chobe. It was an adventure. The main highways in Botswana are pretty good just a few potholes. But there is a lot of police speed traps as speeds will go from 60 to 120 to 80 km. We have been lucky but one fellow we are traveling with got 2 tickets today. There is also veterinary checkpoints to supposedly control meat and fruit products. At most we have been waved through by a friendly officer but at one we had to pay 20 pula. Not sure why but was not going to argue.
To get to the camp we are at now was a sand road that was a challenge. Mark made it through ( must be from all his snow driving experience) but 3 motorhomes got stuck. We have been told that there is a lot more sand roads ahead and that we will be lowering the pressure in the tires to help us get through.We are at Senyati camp for a few nights. It is beautiful here and at the moments we are watching some warthogs and baboons from there bar by the waterhole. Each campsite has its own abulation (
washroom). Mark bought a braii in a box which we will use for making our bbq tonight,
