Woke up today to the sound of rain pelting the windows. This is the first day of bad weather on the trip, so can't really complain. After a great breakfast, we decided to cancel our plans to go to the Cemetary in Luxembourg, and go to the 101st Airborne museum here in town. Turns out its right around the corner, so we walked over. They really do a great job over here of memorializing the great battles fought here, and the brave men and women who fought them. This museum was no exception. Besides having an unbelievable display of war memorabilia and prodcuts from the period, the many dioramas depicting soldiers were unbelievable. The mannequins were so life like you half expected them to speak. All in all, a very worthwhile excursion.

We then packed the car and headed for Paris. The 4 1/2 hour drive was very stressful with the rain and wind pounding the car. Visibility was sometimes 50 yards.

Finally arrived at our hotel at the airport. After Ray brought the rental back, we chilled a bit, had some wine and went down for supper. Early to bed tonight. Well folks, looks like this is the end of the line. All of our clothes are dirty so it's time to head home. It has been an unbelievable trip even better than we thought it would be. Loved all of the places we visited and met helpful and friendly people everywhere. Especially enjoyed traveling the secondary roads and staying in the small villages. Going to miss our daily croissant, baguette sandwiches, cafe au latte, and the fabulous wine.

Yes, we are all heading home with our own battle of the bulge!

So, au revoir mon amie, until our next adventure.

Au Revoir
Pics continue to tell the story. Years ago, I had a client who served in 101st Aurborne and was at Bastogne. He never talked much about it, but when he did, I remember his somber look. Safe travels. See you soon. Quentin
