The Gaff Point Trail actually goes all the way around the peninsula, but we only walked to that point.
Niki and I hiked some of Gaff Point today. I was not prepared for the beginning of the walk, as it was supposed to be beach. Because the tide was coming in, there was very little sand. It was mostly covered with small to medium-sized pebbles. The ocean did make a very cool sound on them!
. It was so loud at times that we couldn't even talk to each other!

We walked for about a little over an hour and a half, in total. As you can see, we didn't make it all around the peninsula. We were concerned about being gone so long. Maybe another day we'll walk the entire trail. It was an amazing trail!

A little about Gaff Point. It is a lush peninsula dangling into the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Nova Scotia. If you were to look due south from the bottom tip of the point, and if you could actual see far enough, the land on the horizon would b e South America.

Gaff Point is almost completely surrounded by ocean, with just a sliver of sandy and cobbled shore, known as Hirtle's Beach,

As you can see, there was no sand. . . only pebbles
connecting it to the mainland.

The trail started off through many pine trees. The smell was amazing.

No, this is NOT South America (as the write-up said). LOL We're not that close.
