Ever the early-bird, Kristy made plans for us to go to a bakery first thing on our third day. We went down the street to Konnichipanfor some breakfast pastries. Today’s breakfast definitely took the cake (pardon the pun). There was a mix of sweet and savory options which we very much enjoyed.

Next on our agenda was to visit the Taling floating market. Our Grab driver warned us that the market was open on weekends only; however, Google claimed it to be open. We went and to our disappointment, our driver was being honest. He offered to drive us to another floating market which had monkey and elephant exhibits, but we were not feeling that adventurous. Instead, we went to check out one of the local shopping malls.

The shopping malls in Bangkok are enormous and have standard offerings like department stores and fitness apparel all the way up to luxury watches and cars. We wandered the mall for a bit before searching out a dessert café that Kristy had targeted for its chocolate molten cakes. CODE , the café, proved difficult to find. We located the mall in which it was located; however, our progress from there stalled. We did eventually get our dessert and it tasted all the sweeter because of our struggle. From there, we grabbed a burger from a restaurant at the mall and headed back to the hotel.

That night we decided to go to Khao San road for dinner and to check out the nightlife scene. Once again, we were able to take a free tuk-tuk ride from our hotel which dropped us right in the middle of Khao San. The street was filled with vendors selling everything from t-shirts to dreadlocks. We went to SuperFlow Beach Club for dinner. We ordered the pineapple fried rice and chicken pad thai. SuperFlow had a live cover band so we stayed for a few beers, after which we hopped over to another bar for a quick beer. The scene was pretty young and lively with club music in many of the bars. We turned in early for a morning flight to Chian Mai the next day.
