The day has come and we have left the UK on our 12mnth adventure.
The last few weeks have been a blur as we have sorted the house out for rental and finalising our plans
Day one went as smoothly as it could with Shalagh dropping us off at Gatwick at 0700 UK time. We flew Norwegian Air and I would thoroughly recommend their service.
A mere 15 hours after starting out we had dumped our bags at the hotel and were heading off into downtown Seattle.
Pike place market was interesting and we will head back another day. Nearby we found the 'famous' gum wall a strange but interesting place where the locals (or possibly tourists) leave this gum. Yum.
An old friend recommended we look at Seattle from the water so we jumped on the ferry to Bainbridge, an island 30 minutes away and looked back at the skyline
On the way back we realised we had been up 24 hours straight so went back to the hotel and collapsed - a good first day
