CLOWN FISH TOWN HOUSE
I love taking photos of clown fish. There is so much variety in color and in their anemones. SOUTH PACIFIC - PHILIPPINES
ANILAO
My time in Puerto Galera was nearly over. On the last day I got in the pool with Bria. After lunch we joined Steve and went to the beach. There was quite an extensive shopping area and I purchased a couple of t-shirts and refrigerator magnets. Then we went to the water’s edge. I had parcels so Steve and I took turns watching our purchases and wallets and playing in the water. When we got to the hotel we discovered that the whole group was again invited to dinner at a special villa that the hotel rents. It was basically the same routines as the night before, but the food was good and the larger dive group made it more interesting. I did not stay for the karaoke.
I packed and the next morning after breakfast I tried to find a place to stay in Anilao on-line. There just simply wasn’t enough time before the dive boat departed for a dive site at Anilao, the next stop on my itinerary. The divemaster, Marlon, came to my rescue. He said he could arrange boat transportation to Anilao and he offered two options for resorts.
BUBBLE CORAL WITH TENANT
Everywhere you look close you will find interesting shrimp and teensy crabs nestled in. I chose Planet Dive. The boat ride was pleasant and right before lunch we arrived at the Anilao dive site. The boat pulled right up onto the beach and Marlon put me and my luggage on shore. He even helped me carry my luggage to the front desk down the beach and waited until the desk checked to see if there was a room available. Yes, they had a room, so I said good-bye to Marlon, finished the check in, and took my things to my room. I was just in time for lunch.
This is my second time in Anilao and it was no surprise to find that this resort was built on a really steep hill. Bungalows were scattered up the hill. There was a dining hall below and the desk and dive center were situated lower still, right on the water with a few palms, swings, deck chairs and hammocks. Stairs and landings connected it all. There were no elevators.
For two full days I just ate and read. The food was a mix of local favorites and western fare and the view from the dining hall was wonderful, blue sea and sky and there
COLORFUL CORALS
Gardens I can just enjoy - no weeding. was a nice breeze. At last…two weeks were up since my tooth was extracted and it was considered safe to go diving. I went to the dive shop and explained about my tooth. The dive staff was understanding and we set up two shore dives on the house reef right in front of the hotel with a dive master. Everything went smoothly. I had no trouble with my mouth and I was elated to be back in the water again. Being back in the water with my camera was great. There was so much to see and the warm water and great visibility made taking photos a pleasure.
At breakfast the next day I asked to join Ben and Else from Holland on their boat dive. It was nice to dive off a small catamaran again. I did just the two boat dives that day. It was overcast and windy and our hour surface interval between dives was cold. and we were relieved to get back in the water to escape the wind. There was so much to see and I found plenty of photo opportunities. Ben asked if I wanted to do a shore dive with them when
CHAMBERLAIN'S NEMBROTHA
Nudibranchs come in so many colors and shapes. This one was very active and I followed him for several minutes, rewarded by amazing poses. we got back to the resort, but I declined. I didn’t want to do more diving. I just wanted to relax. There had been so much stress with the last minute tooth extraction. It was the focus every day for two weeks. Finally I could let it go. Now I had time, a good book and tea. What more did I need?
