Here am I learning a hard lesson in blogging - if it looks like there is a duplicate entry, don’t delete one of them!!! If you do - Puff! They are both gone. ?

17 May we headed to Haddington 24kms south of Edinburgh to stay with our ‘adopted’ cousins, Eleanor and Ken. They recently moved to a lovely new community in the countryside. Beautiful house. Very roomy. So lovely to kick back and catch up just as we had with John. We felt so welcomed, we booked in for another six days in June. Lol

On Sat, as Eleanor settled in to watch The Wedding, Bill and I caught the train into Edinburgh. With the sun shining yet again, we found the Scottish National Gallery. A great wander through there. Some impressive works of art. After caffeinating, we hit Rose Street then tackled the Royal Mile along with the other thousands of tourists walking on up to the imposing Edinburgh Castle. Having toured it years ago with Aunt Cathy & Uncle Willie as our guides, we decided just to spend our limited time exploring Edinburgh. We came across The Court Curio Shop we visited ten years ago. Just had to buy a heather gem bracelet. We later found a Belhaven pub for a Magners in time to see the second half of the Scottish FA Cup. Tough luck Motherwell. We headed back to Haddington in time to see the second half of the English FA Cup. Yay Chelsea fans (Bill & Dave) bad luck Man U (Eleanor & Jez).

Sunday, after a hearty breakfast, we farewelled Eleanor and Ken and drove over the Firth of Forth on the new Queensferry Crossing into the Kingdom of Fife. Very impressive bridge opened August 2017. We headed up to Ballingry. Very nostalgic for Bill. Lots of childhood memories. We then dropped in briefly to St Andrews, Home of Golf. Inquired about a game of golf in June. If we contact them two days prior, we can enter a ballot. So we’ll see what happens around 16 Jun. After another coffee, back on the road again, through Dundee, Scotland’s fourth largest city, and then north to Arbroath.
