We left Cyprus a week ago for the UK and have been helping Pat's Mother - Betty - celebrate her 90th Birthday.

Yesterday we drove up to Heathrow and stopped overnight at the Terminal 4 Premier Inn.

This morning we were up early and off to Terminal 4 for a Qatar flight to Doha at 0910, then onwards to Bangkok.

The Premier Inn is walking distance to the Terminal and very convenient.

We had checked in online, so we just had to drop our bags off. All went smoothly. Through security, then a cup of coffee and to our gate.

The sniffer dog took great interest in my bag as we boarded, and had his snout well in my bag, but the handler asked if I had currency in there, which I did and he said that would be it.

The plane had been slightly delayed coming in, so we were a little later taking off.

The plane was not full and first impressions better than Emirates. The flight was about 6 hours and the time passed by as it does.

We did not need to worry about luggage pick up when we arrived in Doha as it was checked through to Bangkok.

Doha was very straight forward. I know we were only transitting, but apparently they have dropped any need for visas all together, due to the forthcoming World cup we presume.

We only had a short while in Doha and Pat restocked her makeup supplies in duty free during our visit and got some free samples.

The plane from Doha to Bangkok was a lot busier and a much more diverse set of Nationalities. Another flight that the time passed by switching into neutral.

Arrival into Bangkok was ok and the usual melee of immigration went by. Long snaking queues, but they were moving. Our luggage arrived, always good news.

We had one further flight later in the day with Bangkok Airways to Krabi so we had a coffee and then headed into the Domestic departures lounge to find our way.

Pat ascertained that we could check our bags in, even though it was still hours before the flight.

This helps us and we then went through security and headed off to the Bangkok Airways lounge for some refreshments and wifi.

We were only flying Economy, but had planned to pay to go into a lounge to kill time in a better way. However when we got to the Bangkok Airways lounge, they let us in for nothing. Snacks, drinks, free wifi for a few hours, all for nothing.

The flight from Bangkok to Krabi was just over an hour and probably took us longer to all get on the flight, than the flight itself. A meal was provided even on this short flight.

Into Krabi and the sun was shining. Luggage came through and we thought we had arranged pick up from the airport to hotel, but no one was there so we got a taxi.

Arrival at the resort was about 4 pm, we had been on the go for a considerable time, we dropped stuff in the room and popped out for a few supplies and something to eat, while we were still moving. The room is ok and isn't costing much.

Aonang the resort is a busy tourist resort, with all the good and bad things you could want.

We went along the main road, with restaurants, bars, shops tourist excursion offices etc. to get to the coast. To see the Sea.

On the way back we had some food and Pat's first official holiday drink, in a sports bar called TJ's.

Then back to the room and out like a light. After the sleeping like the dead we both managed to sleep for quite a long time.

Pat had been unwell in the UK, but is now fully recovered. I have managed to get a dry cough, hopefully limited aircon over the next few days and being settled will sort me out.

Enjoy
I had the same problem with A/C causing a dry throat and slight cough. Through both aircraft and buses and rooms. Try to just use fans that sorted me out. Glad your enjoying it and weather there improving. Tomorrow we go to Angkor Wat will give you the low down on Siem Reap, but you will enjoy.
