day 1:
All the anticipation of the journey here... months of searching for the best toys to occupy him for 18 hours, wondering if he would be sick or in pain on the flights, anticipating exhaustion and poopy diaper changes...and it was just flawless and completely vomit free! I only changed 1 poop, no one needed a change of clothes and I probably slept only slightly less than I would have on my own. I had a better seat because of him on the 1st flight... And we had 3 to ourselves for the second flight! The biggest difference was that I didn’t watch a movie... other than the few frames I managed to catch of the person diagonally in front of me!! Taylor caught the attention and made friends with everyone around us and all the flight attendants...who knew him by name. He played his first round of catch with the man sitting next to us. Actually managed to throw it right at him so that he could catch it!! He played with his toys, he ran up and down the isles and he slept for the majority of the time. He couldn’t have made the journey any easier. Our first day in Mumbai we slept the entire day. 11 hours. True to my style, we arrived at 3 AM with a hotel reservation for the next day. Which meant about 4 hours playing in the lobby before we were granted an early check in to the room. Luckily it was empty and quiet and a great time for Taylor to run around safely and explore his new surroundings. (What a luxury for me...to even have a hotel Lobby to roam in....and a beautiful, modern room, like any hotel in the west. Hopefully Taylor isn’t shocked by our more permanent accommodations in Goa...which will absolutely not have marble floors, air conditioning or hot water!) By morning, when people trickled in for breakfast, Taylor seemed to say hi to every Indian person and was shy and hesitant around the white people. (Perhaps because they were all British...) He seems to already get the place. Loves the people and sleeps well here!! I couldn’t ask for more. And now after eating dinner, it’s naptime again in preparation for our early morning flight to Goa.
