Set up at the campsite in our RV named Campboss.
Following a great visit with our family in Newton Mass, on 10 Sep we moved on to Belfast Maine where we stayed for 6 weeks or so. Around 1999, my parents and a couple of their friends constructed a wonderful campground to park a few RVs...it has become our northern Shangri La, especially this fall with cool nights and warm dry days perfect for camping. Although we don't have a sewer connection, there is water, power, and a mobile tank to pump waste into for disposal at the end of our visit. We come to Maine to disconnect, walk the property's forest trails, enjoy campfires at night, and watch gradual fall color take over from the lush green canopy. It's a good thing we want to disconnect, because there's no internet on site anyway. I may have to work on that in the future...but for now it is nice to just sit and enjoy the star filled nights without iPhone interference. It's amazing how many times I caught myself saying, "I'll Google it", only to remember I can't. The local coffee shops were happy though, because we visited one every morning to catch up and enjoy their coffee and breakfast.

Our honey pot on the back of Mi Hyon's truck. Normally it's on a trailer, but I did not find a park of the trailer and once it had waste in it...it was stuck. Won't do that again, Mi Hyon will make sure of that because she couldn't use her truck during our visit. ;-)

We had planned on using the site as a base to travel and see other parts of Maine, but settled in and just enjoyed our Maine extended family and the local area. We treasure every opportunity we get to see our Maine family, they are a great bunch of characters and so welcoming to us. In the spring we plan to buy a small house next to my cousins and uncle, it will be great for hosting visitors and getting out of the RV during non-travel periods. We'll still camp in the country, but a home is great to...and the neighbors are wonderful!

The former cranberry bog at our camp normally has some water, but this year it is dry enough for the deer to bed down in the tall grass. Nice the see the deer.

Belfast converted the old RR tracks to a wonderful trail along the river. Maggie and I enjoyed our walks there.

We're looking forward to buying our future Belfast home in May. It will be a great addition and great place to host visitors that can't bring an RV to our park. We'll use both the camp and home, when not RV travelling.
