Me in Munich
There were lions all over the city, each one with a different outfit representing a different part of the cityWhen Luke and I arrived in Munich we were greeted by his family friends, Robert and Regina.
On our first night, they took us out to an underground restaurant, serving traditional Bevarian food...so of course, Luke ordered an extremely typical german dish....a plate of lots of different sausages!!!! i stuck with a baked potato!!!
We spent the next day being shown around Munich by Robert and Regina. I found Munich to be a very beautiful city. Although it is classed as a city, it seems like you are just in a big village, as the buildings are only a few stories high, and it has quite a peaceful atmosphere. There are many beautiful churches throughout the city, and lots of lovely restaurants and high class clothing stores!
On our second day, we were driven to Neushwanstein, the castle, which the Disney castle is based off.
After a small hike up the mountain, we reached the castle, and from merely viewing the outside, you could instantly realise why the disney castle was based off this one...it really did look like it was from a fairytale!
Walking through the inside of the castle just took my breath away!
It was so extravagent and over the top...I loved it! All the rooms were amazingly decorated, and some even had themes! One of the rooms we went into was a man made cave!!! Luke fell in love with the kitchen, because it was huge! I fell in love with the ball/orchestra room...as I was explaining to luke that i could just imagine that room fileld with hundreds of people ballroom dancing, including Belle from beauty and the beast, sleeping beauty and Prince charming, he turns around and says...'this would be a great room to play cricket in!' Such a boy!!!!
Later that day we were dropped off in Austria to spend a relaxing night there, before beginnin our trip through switzerland!
