Yes...off to Villefranche!
Beautiful sunny day we left home about 10am and trammed to Place Garibaldi and walked over to Promenade de Artes to catch the Bus 81 along the coast...good seat thanks John/Mary! Always a nice ride over the hill above the coastline to the otherside. You get a spetacular view of Villefranche bay as you come over the hill. Disembarked at Octroi stop on the top road by the markets and walked down to the Citadelle. A few people about. A nice walk through the gardens out of the heat. Took the walking track around the Citadelle to the base.
At 28 degrees we didn't last long! so the journey in reverse...the transport system in Nice is so easy & we managed to get a 50-75% discount off our train tickets for both of us seeing as Brian is classed as a senior here....a bonus for certain.

Careful in the heat
Tell the OAP to take care in the heat Karen :) My advice is plenty of liquids....kept in the fridge :)
