Edit Blog Post
Well, as you can probably tell by the location of this blog, we are not quite on a tropical beach in Thailand, or exploring temples in Bangkok, or riding elephants. No, we are actually sat in the library in Pudsey. Im sure there are similarities somewhere, although the weather is pretty cold here.
We didnt leave on the date planned, because we have been having a proper mare renting out our house. We were trying to arrange things myself, as Dad Lloyd has offered to manage it while we are out of the country. So we advertised it in the paper and via mates and on the internet, and had alot of interest, but it appears that this was all from timewasters. We had lots of people arrange to come and view it and just not show up, and three different sets of people who came to view it, decided to take it, and then for a variety of reasons, pulled out. The last two sets pulled out after a week and didnt even bother to tell us. Some people are just rude I guess.
Meanwhile, Thailand was getting further and further away.
So we have now put
Kate
You cant beat a fish and chip supper. For all those people who have complained that there arnt any pictures of Kate on the site yet...
For those of you with beady eyes, you can just see a Rentokil van outside. Someone was spying on us I think... the house in the hands of a letting agent in Pudsey, who will apparently find us a tenant and sort out the references, contract, deposit etc. and then hand them over to Kate's Dad. Its not free obviously, but if it works then it is a more hassle free method of finding a tenant. To be honest, we didnt even know letting agents had a tenant finding service, we thought they only found you a tenant if you were going to pay them a monthly fee to manage it, and if we had known that we would probably have done this earlier. Ah, but its easy to say in hindsight.
So instead of riding elephants on Kate's birthday as planned, we went for a lovely fish and chip meal in the Wetherby Whaler in Pudsey. Fish and chips, bread and butter and a pot of tea. Lovely. There were lots of pensioners in there getting the OAP special. Kate is indeed 30. Then we went to good old Bojangles for some drinks with mates. Not quite Thailand but it was fun.
Our house is now empty, all our stuff is in storage, our bags are packed, the spare
Birthday Drinks in Bojangles
Lisa, Phil, Mark, Helen and Kris in Pudsey's premier nightspot. bedroom is a lovely shade of cream and we have spent alot of time finding out what its like to be unemployed.
We just have a visa to get and a flight to book and we will be away.
Fingers crossed when we next write we will actually have left the country and will have slightly more interesting news than this.

Your delay must be most frustrating, the rats and I hope you get to Thailand soon. Here's a useful tip: when you get to Bangkok, if you are going to a temple and someone says its closed and that you should go on their boat/rickshaw/bicycle instead, say "yaaarr boIIocks, haway!" ...and do a merry dance.
