If you're flying with RyanAir there is a bus for 10 Euros to Plaça Catalunya from Girona airport

I didn't stay because I lived there but I've heard good things about Kabul hostel in lovely Plaça Real off La Rambla for about 20 Euros a night. Its got a rep as a party hostel with a famous pub crawl. Reply to this

I'm guessing you are flying via Ryanair. It's great how reasonable their prices are!

It sounds like the hour and a half long bus ride is the best option:

Girona Airport Barcelona

I hope this helps!

Regarding hostels; this is my favorite site:

bugeurope.com

There are a bunch of hostel reviews sites, but this one has the most interesting reviews system so you really get a sense of what you are getting into. You should have no problem finding plenty of hostels to choose from. One tip is to start off by only reading the 4 and 5 star hostels. Often, there is a reason why the others have lower reviews 😊.

Hello you,
I'm not sure if you have been already to Barcelona, but I can recommend you a good homepage where you find great accommodation at reasonable prices and with discounts. Go and check out the following page:
http://www.barcelonapoint.com/en/aparments.html
It's not a youth hostel or anything, but you can find very cheap apartments, close to public transport and very central and you will have more privacy!

Hostal in Spanish is not a hostel (youth hostel) but some kind of small decent family hotel o pension, or residence, notably cheaper then a classic hotel, sometime a truly boutique. I’d like to recommend you some different in the Born area, safe and not so tourist as the Ramblas zone: arthostal.com and hostalribagorza.com. The difference is obvious but the prices equal. Good luck! Especially if you have something to do with the world of the arts. Reply to this

Hi, I'm not looking for a hostel, more of a fancy apartment. I'd prefer it to belong to an agency with a reputation rather than just an individual owner (unless the owner has postings of high acclaim!. Does anyone know of any top notch apartments in Barcelona?

Hi marchy,

I'd suggest you to have a look at either Centric Barcelona or Barcelona Mar. They both are center located are very well rated by people who have stayed there.

If this is no enough for you, you also can check out HostelBookers where you will find many hostels in Barcelona Reply to this

Hola!

I live in Barcelona and have had many visitors. If you are thinking of a short term apartment try www.Rent-City-Apartments.com. there are lots of different prices, locations and sizes. Reply to this

Hi, I actually did stay in kabul in the end - just for the one night - we stayed in a hotel for the rest of the stay. So thanks for the tips. It was clean, functional and fair for the price. I would not stay again, but only because I think as you get older you just want a few more home comforts and I can afford to spend a bit more now. But if I was back in student days, I would have found this to be fantastic for my needs. So I'd recommend Kabul to anyone on a budget. Reply to this
