Hi Jacaline,

Welcome to TravelBlog.

If you are travelling on a Malaysian passport it looks as though you will need a visa, even just for travel. Malayasia doesn't have a reciprocal visa exemption arrangement with Japan.

JNTO visa information

Check with the Japanese embassy/consulate in Malaysia about applying for a visa.

It probably would help, to prove you are only going to be in Japan temporarily (and will return to Malaysia for study), but the first thing to do is contact the Japanese embassy/consulate and find out about the application process. Reply to this
