I've got about 2 weeks to travelling possibly from San Fran to Seattle.
Any advice of what using public transport would be like, instead of renting a car? Reply to this

Well, there is the AMTRAK but it is surprisingly pricey. The buses are slow and the schedules are awkward.

I would lobby hard for a good deal on a rental car. Enterprise is usually willing to negotiate.

Also, the RV companies are currently having deals for one-way rentals. You pick up the RV in San Francisco, drive it up to Seattle, and fly back on Southwest Airlines. Sweet. If you are going to do that, let me know, maybe I will tag along ?

Check the sites for El Monte RV and Cruise America for their one-way specials.
