Questions about weather in april, hostel or B&B.

Hello everyone!!!
So we're going to spend 5 days in Switzerland around the second week in april. Our itinerary so far is that we're arriving in Geneva and heading straight to Interlaken for one night. The next morning, we're heading for Gimmelwald for two night's to relax and do a bit of hiking. Then we're going back to Interlaken, renting a car for the remainder of our stay (three night's). For this, we just want to drive in the mountains and stop wherever we want and just rent a B&B there, heading slowly back to Geneva where we'll depart to our next destination.

What is the weather like in Gimmelwald in early april?? Is it possible to go there and do some hiking?? If not, is there another place you would recommend to do the exact same things?

As for the remainder of our stay, we won't be reserving B&B's in advance cause we don't know where the roads will take us. We just plan on stopping anywhere we'd like and find a B&B there. Is it possible to do this or will they all be booked up?

Any other recommendations are appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance!!

As far as being booked up, you probably won't have that problem in April being that it is just outside the major tourist season. Unless there is a major concert or sporting event, you should be fine.

I haven't been to Gimmelwald, but I can tell you that Lucern is a beautiful town located on the lake. it looks like something out of The Sound of Music.

I don't know if you're into extreame sports, but if you are, you're going to love Interlaken. If you do decide to stay there, look at Balmers.

Have a good time, Switzerland is amazing.

Hihi. we're going to switzerland for 5 days too! and luzern is in the itinerary. I have heard its a nice place so maybe you'll like to check it out too?

I'm wondering how much it will cost for a single train ticket from interlaken to luzern though. do you know where I can find out? I already have a eurail pass but i will be needing this single ride.. Reply to this

VWgirl---done what you are planning. GREAT trip. Go for it. You will have a great time. Weather will be cold but that's Switzerland. Lot's of snow the last time (2008) we were there. Enjoyed every minute of it. Reply to this
