pacsafe 85 used on flights

Hi guys, I have recently bought a pacsafe 85 anti theft with exomesh. I was wondering if you were allowed to put it on your backpack when you were flying between major airports. I am flying from Perth to Bangkok and Bangkok to Frankfurt. Are there any rules and regulations that you need to follow? I would appreciate any information you have. Reply to this

I'm not sure on the legal situation - I assume that it wouldn't be any more illegal than locking a suitcase. The security people will have tools that will crack that lock in seconds if they want to get in.

Practically - I have one as well - I tend to use it less in this type of situation and more for when I need to leave things in a hostel with no lockers or in a hotel room where I'm not sure how trustworthy the staff are... Trains when there isn't a good lock on an overnighter. In that situation it's great - I think though it draws unnecessary attention when walking around airports or bus stations - so then I shrink it down and pack it.

I have a pacsafe aswell, but i haven't had cause to use it yet, but i was just considering to use it in situations like Ali said, id imagine that using your pacsafe at less reputable airports may make your pack an unwelcome target for the less honest airport staff. Reply to this

I've used mine if there's no lockers in my room, and whenever I have left valuables in a hotel/hostel safe. When flying it usually goes in my check-in luggage, and I always keep valuables in my carry-on. Reply to this
