Solo Traveller & Countries to Visit

Solo traveller with a RTW ticket who is unsure which countries to visit

Hi

I have a RTW ticket booked departing in Jan 2008, with the route selected as being India, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, LA.

Now when i originally booked this ticket I was travelling with a friend, who has just advised me of his intention to cancel his ticket!!! Now I do not want this to stop me from going as I have really been looking forward to doing this now since we first came up with the idea earlier in the year.
My question is, as a solo traveller should I change my route to somthing a little more sympahetic for a first time traveller. I have heard a lot of stories about India and China and how these are two of the potentially hardest countries to adjust to and am therefore unsure if this is the best route for me to stick to especially given that these are my start points!! I am thinking that maybe a start in Thailand would be a better option as it would appear that meeting people and finding travel buddies is far easier here then it would be in India/China? Please let me know your thoughts on this as I am clearly not the first person to undertake solo travel !!!!! Reply to this

Hi Weeman id stick with your route, i have not heard anything out of the ordinary about either India or China, i do not think you would have anymore or less hassle in those countries and i know plenty of people that have been to both places and so it shouldn't be difficult to meet people.

Thx Mike😊 Reply to this

Hi Weeman, I'm planning on travelling on my own to Asia for the first time and it does sound quite daunting and maybe a bit overwhelming but I have been told by many friends who have travelled themselves that there shouldnt be anything to worry about as you will meet loads of people, probably more since you're on you're own and likely to go more out of you're way to speak to people etc.

I wouldnt change you're plans, stick with it and I'm sure you'll have a great time! Reply to this
