Question is, is it possible to head from Toubkal & the Central High Atlas area straight to Todra Gorge?

I'm planning a combined trip to Morocco in March 08 which I'm aiming will take in a few days trekking around the Central High Atlas as well as a few days climbing in the Todra Gorge (with time to get around in between!)

** Question is, is it possible to head from Toubkal & the Central High Atlas area straight to Todra Gorge without having to go back to Marrakech and out again as all the (basic) maps I've found seem to suggest?? Is it possible to go from the Central High Atlas to Ouazarzate via public transport? **

This will be my third trip to Morocco & the Todra Gorge so I'll know my way from Ouazarzate but I haven't explored the Central High Atlas at all before.

Thanks if you can help!

Hi Verity,
That´s a tough question! We were in Morocco back in March this year and did both Toubkal and the Todra Gorge. However, we had a hire car to get around. Based on the experiences we did have with the buses I would be surprised if you could do it by public transport. So maybe just plan a nice 1 night stopover in Marrakech?! Sorry not to be more help. Let me know if you have other questions - Toubkal and surrounding area was amazing.
Best wishes,
