Blood work

How easy is it to find a diagnostic center or hospital that can draw my blood while in Australia and send the results back to the USA?

Hey there!

I'm on Coumadin (a blood thinner), and the doc says that I have to get my blood drawn a few times while I'm in Australia/New Zealand to check my levels. Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? I don't know if I should try to research/contact locations before I go or if it'll be easy to just pop in a hospital and have them do it. (I have the forms from my doctor for the lab work)

Thanks!

Hi Suzanne,

In NZ (in the bigger cities at least) there are dedicated blood centres, these may be quicker than waiting at a hospital. Or you could easily make an appointment with a general practitioner. Not sure of costs for that. I would check ahead for something health-related.
