Interested in what influences fellow travellers in their destination choices. Especially if anyone out their is inlfuences by films/movies in their travels.
Hi everyone!
Interested in getting a discussion going on what really influences our travel choices, where we go and what we like to do when at the destination. I'm especially interested to hear from anyone that feel films/movies influence their destination choices.
Love to hear everyone's thoughts both here and on my own dedicated blog at:

Reply to this "Pirates of the Caribbean", definately.
It makes me want to buy a yacht and sail the seven seas.
Too bad I can't afford it.
Reply to this Hello Peter 😊
My travel destination interests have often been sparked by books and movies I have seen.
Also, if I meet travellers who like the type of travelling I do, I ask them to recommend places.
Sometimes I let it depend on the current flight bargains.

Reply to this I always love just going where I know someone!
A friend studies in France - trip to Paris. A friend moves to South America - off to Argentina. If you talk to people you meet everyday about travelling, someone someday will say - 'I know someone in Bangladesh' - you should visit!' And secretly you think you shouldn't becuase it's just a friend of a friend, but really you're just asking for some recommendations and maybe a couch for a night. Right?
Just start talking about travelling and people will share where to go!
Reply to this I took my last Eurail trip last year. I am getting to old for this. Next trip leaves May 4, 2008, via cruise to Cozumel, Grand Caymans and Ocho Rios.
Anyone want to join me?
Reply to this Well, I have various influences when it comes to my travel choices. When I travel to Miami Beach/South Beach or to Colombia it's to visit friends and family. When I was younger, I went to Canada for hockey camp and because I thought I might have to live there one day (REALLY wanted to be a hockey player haha.). Also, I went to D.C. and Philly because a friend had an internship with the National Science Foundation and invited to stay at his place for a few weeks. I went to China because I wanted to experience something very different from the culture I currently live in. Finally, in June I'm going to Europe because I've always been drawn to that region. Whether it be the history, the sights, the culture, I just love it. Also, I've read so much about that region, that I want to see the region first hand. I guess that was my roundabout way that I draw inspiration/influence for many different sources!
