What is the best Visa for me.

I will be coming into Thailand for about 2 weeks, then heading into laos, I will later be coming back into Thailand about another 2 weeks later to go into Cambodia and then back into Thailand to head south for 4/5 weeks. What is the best Visa to get for this situation ?

Thanks Michelle. Reply to this

Hi. I just booked my ticket with STA for travels around SE Asia, and thought I'd be all right with 2 x 30 day passes, but he rang the Thai Consulate in Birmingham and they said, no, needed a £28 visa, and could use a 30 day pass on the second visit as would then hold correct flight. If you ring them they should be able to tell you (I have a feeling there are Consulates in Liverpool and London as well for Thailand, but I walked in to Birmingham on Friday with 2 x passport photos, application form, £33 and was ready in 5 minutes): http://www.thailand-visa.com/.

Excuse the waffle! Bex Reply to this

I just went to Thailand and took a little day and a half trip into Cambodia. I didn't get a visa ahead of time for Thailand, I just flew in and they gave me a visa on the spot (for free). When I went into Cambodia I paid the border guard $30 US and he gave me I think a two week visa on the spot. Getting back into Thailand was no problem the next evening and they just gave me another stamp. So I just winged it and it was fine. 28 pounds for a visa to Thailand seems absurd as they should be free. Once you get into Thailand, it's so easy to get visas to go just about anywhere as well at the hundreds of hotels and travel agencies around Khao San road in Bangkok. That was my experience at least, hope that helps! Reply to this

Shelly, I don't know about your multi entry visa for Thailand but I have been reading the answers you have been receiving. I also am looking for information about a visa for Thailand. The Canadian government and my tour operator told me that UK, USA and Canadian citizens did not require a visa to enter Thailand for tourist purposes. This is a good web site with lots of information from the Canadian Government. http://www.voyage.gc.ca/dest/report-en.asp?country=290000
It says that Canadian tourists travelling to Thailand on a Canadian Passport for less then 30 days do not require a Visa.
I surfed for the UK passport also as a couple travelling with me are on UK passports. I found the same answer...less then 30 days no visa required.
I hope this helps...have fun.

you can get a multiple entry visa for your travel, it will cost for about $150, and it'll be issued within 3 days. Reply to this

After getting that advice that I needed the GBP35 visa, when I entered Thailand 3 weeks ago they said it didn't matter that I didn't have an outward flight within 30 days, as I WAS leaving the country within a week, and can get a second tourist visa the second time (which was what I'd first thought but not what the Thai Embassy told me)... so that was 35 wasted, but never mind...
